Sorry for the cross post, I originally had this in the hardware forum...

Is it possible to run more then one TH2G on the same machine?

I've got a machine configured with:

1 x 3870
1 x 1550
Q6600
8GB of RAM

So I've got 3 DVI out and 1 VGA output

I've got one TH2G
3 x 22" LCD monitors (1680x1050)
3 x 19" LCD monitors (1280x1024)
3 x 17" LCD monitors (1024x768)
2 x 15" LCD monitors (1024x768)
a ton of old analog tube monitors (various sizes including a couple of pro 22"s [of course they way like 65lbs each!)

I'd like to possibly run 2 to 4 TH2Gs on the same computer, but I'm not sure I want to invest another $900 to find out it doesn't work. (and if I had to, I guess I'd upgrade to 4870s or gtx 280s)

I would be looking to play games on at least 1TH2

Is anybody running more then one TH2G on the same box?

What's your experience?

Do you use it for desktop apps or games?

I'm assuming you can drive at least one of those tipple displays in games?

Is it possible to also drive more then one TH2G in games?

Any thing I forgot to ask?

I think you could use the Digi. version on the DVI port and an analogue version on the secondary VGA port on your graphics card. That would yield six monitor array. But..... What game are you going to play with that. I don't know of any near 360 degree games. Then again, I am new to the wide screen world!

lol, i'm not necessarily looking to use more then one TH2G for games, though if I did, I'd probably stack monitors above the main monitor ... ie setup in a monitor matrix of maybe 2 rows of 3 monitrs... so you could basically play wide and tall :)

I'm more looking to find out if it's even possible to hook up 3-4 TH2Gs to the same machine, drive them, and have them work ... I'll find a use for it afterwards (some gaming, maybe a flight sim in surround)... definitely just day to day work... extra screen real estate is always good.

Has anyone actually successfully run more then one TH2G on the same machine?

Ya, i've read that a couple users have successfully gotten at least 2 working on one machine, but I couldn't find their posts with a quick search. It is possible though!

I've seen quake III stretched across 30 monitors with a 60fps constant.

IS this what you mentioned possible? Yes. Now, given the different resolutions, the monitors and using TH2G? Not sure, but I know software side of it and hardware do meet at some point.

Well, if I had to using matching monitors, I would, I was just pointing out what I had to test with... I have enough monitors that I could do the test on everything at something simple like 1024x768.

A friend of mine is going to loan me a second one, so I'll post my results next week after I've had time to try it out.

I'll be testing 2 x TH2G...
since I have an ATI card right now, I probabbly can't test 5040x1050 but I'll try to do 2x3x1440x900 or at least 2x3x1024x768 (I have enough monitors with that native resolution)

I'll also try
3x1280x1024 + 3x1024x768
