This was updated recently, havent tried it myself, but it sounds like it may be ok for higher fov's.

Unfortunately the FOV above 85 or so cannot be used with 5040x1680. Rendering becomes f-d up, cars disappear, images blink and such. The update did no difference.

For normal resolutions the FOV can be higher than 85, I use 100 when I race with my 1900x1200 screen.

Ah see I said I didnt know, and highest rez I can use is 3840x1024 and i'm guessing 5040x1680 is a bit of an ask for most programs/games.
Perhaps the next simbin engine will be able to handle it, better start lobbying now so they know theres a demand for it.
