Technically SGU does it for you, but I went and checked it out manually
It's

C:Program FilesWorld of WarcraftWTFConfig.wtf

I can see that the rez is selected in there... but it doesn't take ingame.. When I launch the game it just drops to 800x600.

So I'm not really sure why it is not working...

Huge long shot, but if the config file is huge, it may have a duplicated line in it for the resolution that you overlooked. Most games read config files linearly (top to bottom), so if you have 2 lines with the res settings in them and the one closer to the bottom of the file is set to 800x600, it will default to that.

Like I said, long shot, but this has solved similar problems for me before(on a regular wide screen, I don't have TH2GO).

Nope that's not it..

Here's my Config.wtf

Code:

   SET readTOS "1"
   SET readEULA "1"
   SET readScanning "-1"
   SET readContest "-1"
   SET locale "enUS"
   SET hwDetect "0"
   SET gxColorBits "24"
   SET gxDepthBits "24"
   SET gxResolution "3840x1024"
   SET gxRefresh "60"
   SET gxMultisampleQuality "0.000000"
   SET gxFixLag "0"
   SET fullAlpha "1"
   SET SmallCull "0.040000"
   SET DistCull "500.000000"
   SET trilinear "1"
   SET frillDensity "24"
   SET farclip "500.000000"
   SET specular "1"
   SET pixelShaders "1"
   SET particleDensity "1.000000"
   SET unitDrawDist "300.000000"
   SET movie "0"
   SET expansionMovie "0"
   SET realmList "<Removed for Security>"
   SET patchlist "<Removed for Security>"
   SET cameraDistanceMaxFactor "2"
   SET Gamma "1.000000"
   SET realmName "<Removed for Security>"
   SET gameTip "2"

I have just re-installed my game which is why all the settings are turned down.. but that's fine.. right now I just want triplehead working.
Here's the odd thing, I'll use SGU (or do it myself) to configure the game so it uses that rez.. But if I launch the game, and quit it will change
Code:
 SET gxResolution "3840x1024"
to
Code:
SET gxResolution "800x600"
once I exit.

I assume I'm supposed to go and change the Video setting once I'm in the game and it will SAVE the new config based off that, but I can't since I don't see the option in the game.

And yes before someone asks.. the parts I just changed here in the Post, it actually shows the info in my Config file or I wouldn't be able to join the server.

Try configuring with the SGU, and then making the file read-only. That has been required in some other games.

Hmm ok well the Config file didn't get changed on it's own in the game when I made it read-only.. but the game still ran at 800x600. So still not working.

Maybe try setting the hwDetect value to 1? Maybe WoW needs to see what card you have before it allows those resolutions?

I hope you get it straightened out soon URFIR3D and once you do,

I'm not sure if this has been posted or if this post is even the right place to post this but
I found this WOW camera fix(I saw other people post similar solutions, but not sure if it included the added huge camera distance tweak listed here):

URFIR3D you are not alone! I am having the exact same problem with Flight Simulator 2004. I optimized using the Matrox software and made sure that the FS9 config file showed 3840x1024. But when I am in the game and go to the display resolutions, it says it is set to 800x600 and there is no way to select 3840x1024 because it's not in the list.

I will try e-mailing Matrox tech support to see what they have to say.

Alright I have fixed my problem...

First had to uninstall my Video Card Drivers.. then I installed the new ones that were just released last week from Nvidia (I'm using an 8800).. Then I had to start using the NVIDIA control panel to setup my rez, and monitors INSTEAD of Windows Properties..

Then when I entered the game I noticed that the resolutions were added.. I hope this helps luvmyfs

Let me know how it goes :)
