yeah i get the a respond from matrox also

As for the resolution support, this is basically a limitation of the current mainstream graphic cards that can output around 4 million pixels (4000x1000).

The newer lineup of cards is starting to support more then this (around 8 million) but the hardware in our device would have to be changed to support the higher pixel count.

This will probably be implemented in a next generation product.

Hmmm. "Not been tested" and "hardware does not support" are two very different things.

It would be good for Matrox to aggressively develop these sorts of capabilities before their customers have to come up with such idas themselves and then clamor for them repeatedly on message boards. Unofficial message boards at that.

Are they still thinking this? 8800 cards are pretty much the norm now, it is trivial to drive such a large resolution.

Firmware hack, anyone?

There seems to be a great deal of bored computer scientists and software engineers out their (hell, there are three active PSP hacker crews that I can recall).

I think (or at least, hope) that if Matrox decide to ream their supporters and not provide an update (but rather, force them to purchase new hardware), there'll be someone out there with a set big enough to take on this challenge.

Maybe someone should introduce Kegetys to Omegadrive...

Are you kidding me? We are already paying $300 for TripleHead2Go. Many people would gladly pay that again for a new version with real widescreen support.

Also people who can drive 3 monitors probably have the best video cards anyways, its not hard to put 2+2 together.

We want our 3x1680x1050 and we want it now!

well just sent email to support with the same question when could they enable triple 1680x1050 resolution. suppose will get the same type of responce, but think if dont ask they wont know people want it. So if you have triple head email them.

But if anyone comes up with a hack would like to hear about it.

well got a reply back from matrox support

The resolution you are asking for is not yet supported by this device.
I cannot confirm if this resolution will be supported by the current product or if this will be supported by next generation product.
I think announcements for this will not be publicized before mid year.
Regards,
