It sounds to me like you are talking about a pirated version of the game ... if that is so I have no sympathy and you should not post about it here.

Post subject:  Assassin's Creed working with SoftTH

Was just saying I was trying different noDVD files from gamecopyworld like everyone else so you don't get the annoying prompt for dvd.

So I got the game working with SoftTH in triplewide.

Start Racer_S' acfov.exe
Launch the game, will not be fully triplewide, press *
Close the game (ALT+F4 works fast)
Re-launch the game, should be triplewide with cfg below
Do not press * or / in game!

Caution: If you press the * or / it will "shrink" back down to the non-triplewide...must be something to do with SoftTH. Subject to change as the right mix of settings may still be found. Had to use a new setting to me else would not draw the entire screen:
doScaleWindowRects=0

Thanks again to Paddy and Racer_S for their great work!

Hi tricky ...
Was just saying I was trying different noDVD files from gamecopyworld like everyone else so you don't get the annoying prompt for dvd.
Fair enough ... I'll take your word for it but you were talking about ...
Hmm...I tried both the one that came with the original REPACK release and the FIX that came (to get beyond Level 1)...
Which is what I understood to happen with the hooky copy of the game.
Hopefully you can understand the WSGF does not and can not be seen to a advocate the pirating of games.

I may be misunderstanding this too ...

Do not press * or / in game!
and
Caution: If you press the * or / it will "shrink" back down to the non-triplewide...must be something to do with SoftTH.
This is a function of the tool .... to enable and disable it ...
Are you saying it is different for SoftTH ?

These keys can be useful ... from my original post ...
If for any reason the graphics get messed up going from menu to in-game or back ... just disable the tool with the / key on the number pad and re enable it with the * key ...

I have tried many variations for the SoftTH.cfg, but the only way I can get the triplewide image is to:

Launch the FovHack, Launch the game, press * in game

Note: The picture will not be triplewide yet. But now the FovHack is enabled in memory.

Close the game (Alt+F4 works well) but keep open FovHack.

Relaunch the game and triplewide is enabled properly.

Note: with my current configuration, if in game I then press * or / the screen snaps back to non-triplewide.

It might be that similar to the FovHack for COD4, SoftTH needs the fov adjustment to be reapplied in memory every XXms to be able to enable / disable it. Or it might be I just haven't found the best cfg settings yet.

If the * and keys could be remapped to other "hotkeys" would be great for us numpad + mouse gamers, but it's working and runs smooth.

Hey I have brought it retail (doesn't look like it will get here with steam) so I will be installing it soon.
As it is DX9 only can I make my vista 64bit run it is dx9? haven't quite figured that one, any help would be cool
thanks

To make Vista run the DX9 version go to where the game is installed and locate the DX9.exe run this from here or add a shortcut to the desktop for it :D

You da man! Thanks, I am glad it is simple many things with vista are not!
For example the 'games explorer' which seems to only have about 1/3 of my games and the fact that after and install only about half of my programs/games get an entry in the all programs bit of the start menu (or whatever it is called now!)
But enough griping thanks again ;)

hey Paddy
How is your performance? Mine is a bit poor really. Using 3xSLI and Vista 64bit on full settings it drops to 15 after you use eagle vision with a lot of people about. And it seems jerky often. FRAPS shows it about 30 but 'feels' worse.
So is a vista pile of rubbish again? or is yours poor as well?
Cheers
