GT3 RS Clubsport is $300USD while the Turbo S with regular pedals are $350USD. That throws more complexity into the issue too. I ended up getting the clubsport pedals seperately then decided just this weekend that I'd get the Turbo S wheel vs the GT3 RS. The Turbo S is getting rating higher than the GT3 RS wheel, so I went with the extra cost. Besides I thought the orange of the GT3 RS wheel is detracting. For someone without a G25/27 I think the price is conperable, but if I had a G25/27 I don't think I'd buy unless my wheel was worn out.

Is the pedals powered by batteries?
Is the Logitech G25/27 also powered like that?

Battery optional,

insidiesimracing is doing a 2 part 5 wheel shootout, part 2 is not out yet but pits the G27 vs the Turbo S so I am waiting to hear back on that.

http://www.insidesimracing.tv/

id check out there review of the G27 and the Turbo S as a prelude for now and wait for the 2nd part if your on the fence about both like I am.

Im thinking that the G27 is going to be the better buy for the money, but if your willing to go all out with clubsport petals and a sim racing unit the Turbo S is going to be better suited for that role.

As it stands the Turbo S is not very good at desk mounting it seems and thats a bit negative since thats how I will use it.

I am using mine on a desk and have no problems with it at all.

Ohh and your post above the Turbo S does have paddle shifters if that is what you were talking about. I think you said no peddle shifters.

As I understand it, all the Fanatec wheels have paddle shifters on the wheel. They had to convence Porsche that they needed them. I guess that was some of the license holdup according to what I read.

yeah they are like hybrid buttons, bigger than a regular button but not a full fledged paddle shifter like on most other wheels.

still been doing research on my G27 vs Turbo S comparison.

Another +1 for the Turbo S is that it comes with 2 shifters, one is the 6+1 speed and one is a sequential.

right now playing dirt 2 on my momo I like to use the sequential shifter as my e-brake kinda feels real that way, but of course if I got the G27 or Turbo S I would be using the clutch + 6 speed shifter so while I like the idea of the sequential shifter and it is a nice bonus I wonder just how useful it would be.

my next step is to find out if the turbo is truly is limited edition, when they sell all 3000 units they wont make any more? thats kinda lame probably some catch 22 there.

I found a video of the g27 noise and while much less grindy than the G25 it still makes some sound, so the Turbo S is got the win on sound, then again nobody is probably going to be playing in a volume so low as to not cover up the small amount of noise the G27 makes.

Pedals, I think the G27 pedals are much better than the default Turbo S ones, but not as good as the club sport. Again how far are you willing to go? If your a sim racer and this is your main thing, the $500 price tag of the Clubsport is just an "investment" but if your a gamer and racing games are just one part of your assortment of games and you just want a wheel to use its probably too much and so I think the G27 takes the win in overall value and accommodations.

The Turbo S is compatible with the G25 pedals so maybe it works with the G27 ones? and that also means Maybe the G25/G27 can use the clubsport pedals? Take that back I know it can because that 5 wheel shootout I linked above all 5 wheels were using the clubsport pedals but I think it acts as a separate device and that may not be compatible with a wide array of games.

Also something fanatec didnt advertise is the turbo s pure the cheapest one that is the wheel only, according to a video I saw it works for 360/pc/ps3 via usb, they advertise it as xbox360 ONLY unless you buy the $50 wireless usb dongle. So it seems that you do not need to use the wireless adapter and can plug right in with the USB cable if thats true the advertisement of 360 only without the adapter is pretty false and dishonest.

The clubsport pedals can be used with any game that allows multiple perepherals. It just plugs in like any regular USB device to your computer is you choose to plug it in that way. You can also plug it into the Fanatec wheel instead for better game compatability and integration.

If only it was not a Porsche wheel it would be cheaper I am sure just due to licensing fee's and then I think it would be a lot more competitive of a product in the price vs value aspect. The other thing is basically its only available direct so you do not have other merchants discounting the product like you normally see, if only it was on ebay or something would have had to use that 20% cashback that was out the other day.

It's not expensive because of the Porsche logo's look at the GT3 wheel. Also look at the regular 911 Turbo wheel $199. It is $150 more for the 360 compatible S version. It is expensive because of the M$ FF and license. Look at the price of all there other wheels and you will see what I mean.

Hrrrm, one would think they would have shipped my order by now. It's been over a week. I thought they had a holdup in customs awhile back but finally got their production run in a shipping crate. I still only have my paypal receipt and waiting on that shipment conformation email now. I guess they're backed up on shipment of the Turbo S $350 setup for some unknown reason. Send my the email shipment conformation already like I got on the clubsport pedals. :nudgenudge

I purchased the clubsport pedals on the 1st and they're already here on the 10th. God those pedals are nicely engineered...and heavy. This is no toy plastic piece of equipment. It has the finish of a brushed alunimun computer case.
