So what I am understanding is that if I have two video cards, ( 2x8800GTS) Although I cannot use sli  , i can use three monitors, and don't require software or hardware such as SoftTH or TH2G, because Source games support these kind of triple resolutions natively right :D ? Like Half Life 2, and Counter Strike Source. Or is it the other way around :? and I need one of the two ( SoftTH or TH2G ) To play Counter Strike Source at resolutions such as 3072x720 or 3072x768. I'm a bit confused :( , thanks for your answers. I appreciate them. :D :D |

I spanned my desktop across both my widescreens using the Nvidia software (7900GS) and Half-Life 2 worked perfectly across them (just like having a DH2Go). The signal for both was comming out of the same card on 2 DVI cables, though, so I'm not sure if 2 separate cards will allow this as well. |

There is a big difference between gaming on 2 spanned monitors without intervening software or hardware, and doing the same on 3 spanned monitors. With 2 monitors both are driven by a single graphics card and it's not a problem. With 3 monitors, you can't drive them all with one card (unless you have a Matrox Parhelia), and it generally doesn't work. SoftTH hacks this so that it does work, although performance suffers. TripleHead2Go makes it so that the computer only sees one monitor, and the performance doesn't suffer. In this case you can also use SLI to drive the triplehead display. If you use SoftTH with that hardware, you'd be wasting one of the 8800GTS cards. Better to buy the TripleHead2Go or sell one of the GPUs. |

You do need to have a software of some sort When we say something "supports" a resolution we basically mean if you have the right equipment (software or hardware) the game is capable of running at this resolution.... For triplehead and dualhead if i game says it is capable you usually still need dual head 2 go or triple head 2 go especailly with monitors on 2 graphics cards. |
