Hi Guys,

I have been reading around the site and it appears I can use triplehead2go with my 24" monitor, my question is am I able to use 2 x 19 / 20" inch 4:3 monitors at the sides or do they need to be widescreen monitors as well?

It has all got very confusing

I love my 24" screen and do not really want to get rid of it, but would like something that could / work with it if possible.

Or is it better to sell the 24" and purchase 3 4:3 monitors? any advice is welcome.

Currently running 8800 GTX if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance,
Lea

The TripleHead2Go only outputs three equal resolutions to the three monitors connected. That means that if you run a widescreen in the center and 4:3 on the sides, the image will be distorted on at least on monitor.

The best experience with the TripleHead2Go comes with 3 19" monitors with native resolutions of 3840x1024.

Thanks for the reply, so it seems that 3 x 19" monitors are in order

I dunno I'd hold onto the 24" if you can. You could do 2 16x12 monitors with soft triplehead. I have never used it, but a lot of users have said it actually works pretty well for some applications.

It's just that the vertical resolution is lacking with 19", and that the way your vision works a center widescreen feels more comfortabloe. Obviously you can't really expect to use the triplehead for most games this way.

I use 3x24" dells in my DTH2Go setup,I'll be honest,I personally don't notice any stretching or distorted image when playing games in surround,I mainly use the 3840x1024 res.
Maybe it's that the monitors scale well in that res,or maybe because I'm not sensitive enough to any visual difference(if any?)

I will say that 3x24 is almost "too" wide ,real estate wise.
I sit about 2-3' away and I notice that my eyes cant cover the whole area periphery wise.
I guess it's not really a problem, just a bit of overkill in an already drastic form of gaming :D

Hope that helps you a little, good luck:)

Only at 3840x800, not at the monitors' native resolutions. I answered this in detail in your other thread.
