I know normally you can't use TH2G with 22" monitors for some silly reason and there is nothing floating around on the interwebs about an update that will allow it to use 22" monitors.

But is it a true hardware fault or is it a VESA/DX10 problem. I was reading that DX9 only has 4k max resolution, but DX10 can go upto 8k max resolution.

So has anyone tried a TH2G with vista and 22" monitors or are we still doomed until matrox get their ass into gear and finally make it for larger resolutions.

I'm still hoping that they will bring around offical support so I can hook up my 22" monitors for widescreen gaming.

If there is absolutley 0 hope of it, what is the best current PCI(E 1x) video card out at the moment so I can hold out until I can get a TH2G to work with my cards.

Cheers, Smithjoe1

You should check out
Soft-TH, and with that directx, it is the card type

DirectX 9 Card, max resolution of 4096x4096
DirecX 10 Card, max resolution of 8192x8192

That is all that I know of Multi-Monitor things :)

I would right now if I had a spare pcie1x card or a TH2G, but I'm trying to see my options before I spend all my monies. My card is DX10, but only 2 DVI ports.

A few misconceptions in this thread to clarify.

1) 7-series and below cards were 4096 max pixel width. 8-series and newer are 8192 max pixel width. It is a hardware limitation, not a DirectX version limitation. 8192 pixel width works in both DirectX 9 and 10. I've ran a setup in-game with 6400x1024 awhile back to confirm DirectX 9 works just fine past the 4096 supposed limit if using proper hardware.

2) TH2G analog is limited to 3x1280x1024 maximum via hardware limits. There are people who use higher resolution displays with TH2G but are capped to 2x1280x1024. DH2G Digital is capped at 2x1920x1200.

3) SoftTH can work with larger resolutions some of the time and with a lot of configuration headaches. DirectX 9 games only. Games that do not have hack protection preventing a spoofed dx9.dll to be put into their directory only.

4) You can not span 3d gaming over multiple cards without using SoftTH. The 3D area has very specific directx and opengl limitations in games. Again, SoftTH is a headache to use.

5) There are many pitfalls to multi-mon gaming. No 2 games behave the same. That's one of the reason why these forums exist.

It seems that someone is already using Digital TH2G to run 3 monitors at 5040x1050 (triple 1680x1050 natively).

I'm not sure if I understand this. Is the guy using SoftTH of his TH2G for 3x1650x1080? I set up a custom resolution of 4320x900 (3x1440x900) in my nVidia software, but the display is cropped to only show 3840x800. The start menu, etc are off the edges of the display. How exactly did he get this working? I have an 8800 and would love to run my LCD's native resolutions (1440x900).

I don't see where it says anyone is using Digital TH2G to run 5040x1050. I run 5040x1050 using SoftTH.

I've just set my DTG2G at 5040X1040 @ 60 Hz refresh rate and it all seems to be working fine. Not run any games yet.

Why is this working.... I set through my Nividia Graphics coontrol panel.

I just setup my DTH2G tonight, tried after reading this topic....:)
