I purchased a 4850 today and wanted to know if anyone has tried it with the th2g yet? I rarely use my th2g these days since I bought my 28" monitor, but I still have it plugged into the secondary output of the video card to use when I sim and still need it to work. Hopefully ATI has fixed all of their issues with the th2g in the past which did not allow for the 3840x1024 rez.

They certainly have, and it was a pleasant surprise.

The only card that were affected by the D3DCap were X and pre-X series; only the HD series has only ever suffered with the 800x600 res.

Since about version 8.3 (?) of the Catalyst driver, even my X1950 Pros were able to drive the screens at 3840x1024.

Since gotten some 3870s to actually run games at that resolution, though.

Well so far so good. The 4850 is a good 50% faster than my old 8800gts 640. TH2G seems to work ok with it and that annoying static that I got with my past 2 nvidia cards on the center monitor is gone. There must be some sort of small incompatibility with nvidia and TH2G that creates those static lines. Amazing card for $179! I am going to grab another one and crossfire them once I upgrade my cpu and board.

Good to hear, I'm planning on getting 2x4870 soon unless they release a 1GB card.

I bought another 4850 for crossfire and it worked great. I was running TDU tonight at 3840x1024 with HDR, all settings on high and 4x AA and was getting 35fps pretty solidly the whole time. I was in the high teens - low 20's with those same settings with the 8800.
