Post subject:  new TH2GO resolutions and FSX ...problem

Hello,

i just installed the new drivers to run the new widescreen resolutions for the triplehead2go setup(http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/press/releases/2008/gxm/th2go_widescreen/)
When i run FSX in the new resolution (which happend to be the native resolutions of the 22'' screens) , every few seconds my screens go black for 1 or 2 seconds !!!
I am running the 1680 x1050 resolution on each screen and I have a fully compatible hardware and drivers with the new triplehead2go resolution (alienware with vista, 2 x geforce 8800 ulta sli with the latest drivers, FSX acceleration).
The problem goes away when running FSX with a lower resolution ie 1280x1024.
Did anyone encouter such a problem..any idea how to solve to problem ?

Best Regards

Fulcrum

PS: actually i reallize that everytime the screen blackouts I get a driver stopped working and recoverd message :(

Hello ... welcome to the forum ... 8)

Exactly which drivers are you using ?
Is this the only game that this happens ?

A few people have reported problems with the 177 series drivers ...
Rolling back to earlier drivers has helped some people ... 175.xx drivers

(I am running these GeForce Driver v177.83 (with PhysX support) on XP without any big issues ... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/9223 )

greetings Paddy

and thanks for the warm welcome and the fast answer. I am actually running 175.19. Perhaps I should upgrade to the beta 177 series

will test and let you know.

installed 177.83 drivers , now I dont even get the new resolutions available on the matrox powerdesk (i did try reinstalling the matrox firmware and software) :( any idea ?
Actually I tried installing 177.89, 177.83,177.79 but only the 169.19 and earlier offer me the choice of the new resolution.
In terms of other software, lockon doesnt even start anymore but ghostrecon seems to work with the new resolution

Very strange ... I wonder is it Vista combined with new drivers that is causing the issue.

gets even weirder: get the resolution to work if I turn off the AA in FSX...but then i run into strange issues like if I call up a panel in the VC using the shift+ a number , pointer arrow become the donut and the computer seems to be stuck in a process reducing my FPS ! really strange...looks like a software issue. Wrote to Matrox a few days ago , they dont even bothe to answer !

Also, might ask over at http://www.mycockpit.org . Those guys have troubleshot FSX + TH2G before.
