I'm thinking of getting 3x E248WFP dell 24" monitor for my setup.

I think one user here have 3x dell E248WFP monitors:
I got a question for you.

1) For regular work/office/web/email etc.. is 3x E248WFP too wide of a field of view to look around ? I mean do you neck get tired turning left and right?

I current have 3x 20" 4:3 screen its alright and I don't have any neck turning tired problem. I'm just wondering if 3x widescreen is too wide of a desktop space.

2) at 24" native resolution is 1980x1200. do the Th2G support that resolution in single monitor mode?. the Th2G can support 1600x1200 in single mode and I use that. I'm just worried that TH2G won't support the native resolution of the LCD even in single display mode.

Hello ...
My system specs are below ...

Answers to your questions follow you may also like to take a look at this thread ... http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/9560#comment-176872

1 ...
It is very wide ... mine is about 62" with the two sidescreens angled in a bit.
You do have to turn your head to look from far left to far right.
I thought that it would be too wide for desktop applications and at first it does seem that way but after a few minutes of use it is ok and I prefer it.
I can have 3 applications running ... each in widescreen ... gotta be good.
I never open any applications across all three screens apart from games.
Generally I found there isn't as much head turning as I thought there would be but as I mentioned you do have to turn your head to look from far left to far right.

2 ...
The TH2G does support 1920x1200 in single monitor mode but I have been unable to get it to work ... I'm using XP.
I believe Mach1.9pants has got it to work in Vista ... but Vista has issues with the triple wide resolutions with the latest Nvidia drivers.
I haven't needed 1920x1200 as I don't like to game in anything other than TH ... can't help it ... one screen is no longer enough ....

I have a question thats sorta related , so sorry for hijacking your thread.
Triple head setups run either at 3x 4:3, 3x 5:4, 3x 16:9, 3x 16:10 if i'm not mistaken.
Running 3 displays on any of the above will bring distortion at the outer monitors, which isjust the way it is (exceptions rFactor etc).
So would it be possible to run a setup at say 3x 16:9/10 and using a widescreen monitor as a centre monitor but running 2x 4:3 or 2x 5:4 as your outside monitors in the non-native widescreen resolution (say 1680x1050) . If they could run this resolution then the picture would be artificially compressed in the horizontal, and thus reducing the distortion effect seen at the edges and saving a bit of desk space. As these monitors are really only peripheral it shouldnt look too bad.
Of course you would have to run the desktop on the single widescreen monitor as it would be distorted over the three.
Another way would be to run say a 9800gx2 in non sli running 2x th2go units, 1 running 3x16:9/10 ,the other 3x 5:4/4:3 and then using 1 to power the centre widescreen monitor and connect the 2x 5:4/4:3 monitors to only the outsides of the 1 running 3x 5:4/4:3 in clone mode but in their native res.
Most of us have 5:4 monitors so could add 1 widescreen for the middle to get a reasonable compromise for single screen gaming.

Sorry for the long post, but been painting at work so had lots of time to think about nothing :D

Yeah you have to move yourself a bit to use 3x24" but it is not a huge problem especially with a curved desk.

Vista does 1920x1200 no problem but you are stuck with older drivers until Matrox just release a new GXM (grr I want 180 series!) I was just on the phone to them.

To Deckard: as long as the monitor is capable of displaying 1680x1050@57 you can use any combination of monitors you want. However I doubt very much you'll find a 5:4 monitor that does wide screen res (a CRT might but not LCD)

How bout a 2nd th2go running 3840x1024 but with only the outside monitors connected ,in clone mode ,on the 2nd monitor output, does this sound like it would work.
I do have the older analog th2go, but it prob wouldnt work with the digi connected as the primary display.
