I know its been a while since this topic was discussed, but I was wondering if anyone figured out how to get surround gaming with portrait monitors (3072x1280). its not really a big deal, but I know that I would like to have the little extra space on my desk plus the taller monitors for more vertical FOV. I know it can be done in SoftTH, but my board doesnt have an extra PCIe X16 on it and softth crashes WoW when you leave the game...

any thoughts???

As you say... it's been discussed.
To put it simply (and afaik), portrait mode would require individual control over each monitor, while TripleHead needs (and was designed) to treat them as one display, be it single-, dual- or triple-screen. The best you could do (if it's even possible to implement it) would be to 'portraitize' the whole display, resulting in a vertical TripleHead. :?

And by the way SoftTH is not SLI, I mean it doesn't require an extra PCI-E x16 slot, all you need is outputs - so even an old PCI graphics card would do the trick ;)

I was using a Nvidia card that went in the X1 slot, but maybe it was because it was a Quadro card instead of a standard GeForce that was giving me the issue...oh well..
