Need some help guys!!!!

Ok am currently running my 3 x 19" triple screen set-up and have a 24" Benq monitor that I use for other things and some gaming. With the new support for wider resolutions on the digital edition - i was thinking about possibly purchasing another 2 24" monitors?!

The problem I can see - is whether it's overkill as I will never be able to use the native res of the monitors due to the limations of the software?!

Would it make more sense to upgrade to 3 x 20" widescreen monitors? (which would actually cost about the same).

Need some advice I guess!!!

If you have the physical space, the hardware to get away with it, and can afford it.. why not?

Or maybe 3x 22" displays? There are some 22's that spit out 1080p but still look fine at 1680x1050. It'd still be a nice jump from the 19's you're using now.

You won't be able to use 3x 1920x1200 using TripleHead2Go, but I'm sure 1680x1050 doesn't look that bad on a 24-incher - and 5040x1050 on such large panels must be jaw-dropping enough for you not to mind the slight "blurriness". Plus you can always use the comfy 1920x1200 res on a single screen when you're not gaming. So if you've got the room on your desk, and already have one 24" monitor, why hesitate ? ;)

I expect a subject like this to be in my Junk email folder.

Thanks for the replies guys. It is a lot of money to spend and I want to make an informed decision – and thought it sensible to ask for people’s advice.

The blurriness you refer to is it really that bad? A little stuck on whether to go for the 22â€

Nah. LCDs usually suck at displaying lower-than-native resolutions, which means fonts won't look as sharp as they should. It is definitely not a big issue for 3D gaming though. Try it on your BenQ : set your desktop res to 1680x1050. Launch a game. Does it look that bad ? If you think so, go for three 1680x1050 panels, but that'd be a pity in my book.

Furthermore, you could always try to run some games in 3x1920x1200 using SoftTH. Takes some time and effort for each game with no guaranteed results, so I wouldn't recommend it as a replacement to TH2G, but it's a good option to keep in mind if you're keen on experimenting things.

Blurriness is not a problem for me. I thought it would be but got used to it within a couple of days now I don't notice it, heck when the desktop is set to 1920x1200 I don't like it now! Looks weird LOL

If this is a pure gamin rig the bigger the better IMO. The added benefit is that you still get 1920x1200 on the centre when the game doesn't have TH support.

For work the 3x24" is probably (I dunno I haven't tried 3x22 or 20) a little less ideal. You have to physically move your head to see the side screens. That said it doesn't bother me.

But gaming... nothing beats it at the moment (apart from maybe 3x30" ;))

EDIT: I had 3x19 and a 24" just like you. It makes no sense to me to downgrade to less than 24 when you can upgrade to something for the same price.

Do it! I'm on 3x19" right now and planning to go to 3x24". Since I won't be using TH2GO if I'm not gaming, I don't care if it's blurry anyways.
