Hi!
I am currently planning to build my own *custom made* support/stand for triple 24 inch monitors which i will use for widescreen gaming, multitasking and other things. I will be using Steel as a material, and since my grandfather has a welding rig, he has agreed to let me both learn, and use that for putting this thing together.
I've done it before! and this is the result i got: (you can see the Foot support there, and its not pretty :( )
You can also see my previous attempts of mounting monitors on the wall *drill twice, measure once*.
Now! Its been almost a year, and i feel ready to build a new one. My question is the following:
- Is there a formula that i can use, to calculate how Big/Long/Heavy of a counterweight i need for three monitors in a way for none of them to tip over or anything like that.
I am using three Acer V243HQbd monitors, and they weigh 5,8KG each. (that is 12.7 lbs). I am planning on having the side monitors in a 30 degree angle. 45 is too "closed in" for my eyes, and i would have to turn alot more. 30 degrees feels more natural, and looks great aswell.
So, any advice on how big of a counterweight i need?
