Hello WSGF,

I'm a constant visitor here I just never thought of making a account til now I guess. Im very curious about something. I figured you guys would be able to tell me. Now, I run a dual monitor setup here. a 2043 BWX and a 204 BW (Samsung) and they're connected to a GTX 285 via DVI of course. I'm trying to play some games on both monitors. The one game I would love to run on both would be DiRT2. I have a wheel setup and I just need to have a broader view when in the cockpit. Is there any way to accomplish this without spending $300 on a Matrox? UltraMon allows Windows to view the desktop as one monitor with 3360x1050 and I remember the old Nvidia drivers used to have a multi-monitor wizard where you can span the desktop accross both monitors. However I don't see that option in the new Nvidia Control Panel.

I hope somebody here would know some information about this matter.

Thanks,

Shaz.

What OS are you running ? The Span mode has since been dropped in Vista and Win7 and only supported on XP.
You could however try out SoftTH, it is like a software based version of the Matrox tripple head 2 go, although it can be a bit fidely with getting it to work correctly, expect to do some searching and or experimenting to get your games configured correctly.

Windows 7 unfortunately. Why the heck did they drop out spanning on Vista and 7? That just doesn't make sense...

I've tried playing with SoftTH but I cannot get passed the whole device ID error. It says it cannot detect my monitor device ID. I went to the device manager and tried to plug in a bunch of ID's that I found there for my two monitors. I got around the error and managed to get custom resolutions in the game. However, I couldn't find 3360x1050, I tried to change the resolution to something smaller, the game crashed. Both Fullscreen and Windowed mode kept crashing.

No luck so far.
