Been a long time away from FPS games ever since Starcraft 2 came out.

The Vietnam expansion has pulled me back into BFBC2 and so I get to use triple monitors again.

I have been using the default FOV and my bezel compensation resolution and it looks fine to me, but was wondering do you guys use the default or did you mess around and find better values to play at?

Im at 5980x1200 via 3x 16:10 monitors.

The default view is the same vertical fov as single screen users get right?

Im gaming at 5916x1080 and I did play around with the fov, but nothing I tried felt as good as the stock fov. I would like to hear from others as well though.

If im not mistaken I play it at 5916x1080 as well (have to double check) but everything seems fine to me. Usually I can tell when something doesnt look right but BF Vietnam looks good to me....Man..I love BF BC on Eyefinity, its almost worth buying just for it. Hope this helps.

Battlefield 3 here I come!

I think when I played BFBC2 I had bumped it up to 65 for the Vert FOV but cant remember.

Seem to recall doing better with it up to a higher number from the stock 55.

However like some other games (borderlands for instance) it throws off distance, you can be standing 3 steps away from a tree and as you increase the fov it looks like your further and further away when its still the same in-game distance. Really throws me off esp for melee stuff like the knife.

Edit: Yep I use 65, infact its still in my .ini file even though I just got the steam version, because its probably still using my ini file from the EA version I had before. Unless steam uses a different location I am playing with a 65 FOV.

My FOV is set to 85 in the config, seems ok.
Slightly off topic, I just went from a TH2Go setup to an nVidia sli surround setup, which is fairly similar ingame, apart from getting into choppers and tanks , as it then goes to a single screen only (the 2 outers remain on tho) .
On foot or on a quad its as the TH2Go, 3 screens.
Is this common for an nVidia setup or has something gone wrong ?

I've always used 63 (I think) for 5292x1050, and about 72 for a single screen.

Has anyone else noticed the FOV, when in turrets seems completely different to vanilla bc2?
Feels way too low.

Could just be me ofc :mrgreen:

Yeah I can understand that inside a tank, but not when in external view ?
But when in a helo you can only see 1 screen out of 3, thats surely not right (inside or out), so stuff to the left and right are just black.
The TH2Go used all 3 because it gave the game 1 large monitor to draw, I thought the nV surround setup did the same.

When I was first playing I noticed that my side monitors blanked out initially.. I tinkered with the configuration files a bit (I was having crashes and couldn't figure out how to fix it) and somewhere along the way I fixed my crashes and now in vehicles I no longer have my side screens blanked out in helicopters and tanks, etc. I don't know what setting it was.. (Using NVIDIA Surround).

If anyone is curious to try to reproduce the results, here is my settings.ini setup:

Code:

   [WindowSettings]
   Width=6060
   Height=1080
   Fullscreen=true
   RefreshRate=60
   VSync=false
   [Sound]
   Quality=high
   VoipEnable=true
   SpeakerCount=0
   [Graphics]
   Effects=high
   Soldiers=high
   Vehicles=high
   Overgrowth=high
   Undergrowth=high
   StaticObjects=high
   Terrain=high
   Shadows=high
   Bloom=false
   HSAO=false
   MSAA=0
   Water=high
   MainQuality=high
   Texture=high
   DxVersion=9
   Aniso=0
   Detail=high
   RenderAheadLimit=2
   Fov=59.000004

From what I remember, I disabled bloom, set DirectX to 9, and raised my FOV a bit.

And in "GameSettings.ini" I set HintSystem=1 to HintSystem=0. And voilà, my crashes were gone, and so was the black on the side screens in vehicles..
