I hope this is the right place to post. In Windows 7 Pro or Home I can't save the monitor positions. I have 3 1680x1050 Acers (two DVI, 3rd on DP to VGA adapter) in an HD6850 Eyefinity group and a 1280x1024 NEC1770 DVI on an HD5450. That 4th mon I want on the right but when I bootup it's always on the left and at the wrong resolution. Latest 11.2 driver, Windows is updated. Latest bios. I assume this is a W7 problem and there are hundreds upon hundreds of posts about this across the net. I even tried setting the 4th as the primary but W7 wouldn't save that either. Setting the positioning as a preset in CCC will hold it - until the next bootup. I'm a flightsimmer, the positioning will even change when I go into and out of FlightsimX. |

I had exactly the same issue (wrong place and resolution after each bootup or launching a game). Each time I had to load my Catalyst preset to come back to the setup I wanted. I recently solved it with news drivers (Since January's Catalyst preview, out in december I think). I run Windows 7 too. I don't get why you still run into trouble with the 11.2. :( |

I removed the second card and now when I adjust monitor positions they remain the same after reboot. So Windows or the video driver doesn't handle the second card properly. A Microsoft support person said both cards should be exactly the same -two HD6850's for instance. I will try that next as a work around. |

It works for me with a 6950 and a 5450. |

Update: I want the NEC mon on the right of the 3 Acers. If the Acer monitors aren't grouped or if the group only includes two monitors (one can be the DP adapter) then the positions ARE saved after reboot. If I set up a 3 monitor group then after reboot the NEC has moved to the left side and its resolution is wrong, 1920x1200. So there is either a problem with the Eyefinity grouping software or I am missing some step in the setup. |
