OK...this could be a strange one. I'm running a 5850 card (and considering a 6970) and have managed 3 monitors both as separate desktops and spanned. What I have now is a 32" main monitor in the center and two 21" monitors....desktop 1, 2, and 3.
I run a pretty intricate flight sim and would like to use the three monitors in a spanned setup but with the smaller two side monitors displaying the same relative size as the center monitor, albeit with a narrower field of view. In other words, align the tops of the monitors and span the three screens with graphics at the same relative size. This would give me a single image across all three monitors that was not affected by the different monitor sizes and would cut off the bottom image of the side monitors. The goal is to look through the windshield of the aircraft through the front monitor and have the side monitors show the side windows. I can do this by spanning now, but the side monitors show a smaller image. (2 more identical 32" monitors are really not an option if I want to stay married.)
I know I'm not explaining this well, but the question is....can you set the resolution of a monitor so the entire image is NOT on the screen....so that you see only the top half of the image, for example?
Any ideas? Am I making any sense?
