So I'm very tempted to get a new 3d TV so I can play some 3d games. But I ran into a snag.
First off, this website got me hooked on WSG. Love my triple-monitor setup. :rockout
It says that for me to activate or 'unlock' the drivers to support 3D TV Play, I might need the IR transmitter and NVIDIA kit.
So 2 questions arise...
Can I just borrow a friend's IR transmitter to unlock the drivers, since the TV glasses are the ones that will be used for the 3D TV?
(E.G. Do you have to have the IR transmitter hooked up at all times to play, or what? Considering the IR transmitter is only used for the Nvidia glasses, which I wont be using.
And if the IR transmitter isnt necessary, the software can be purchased from
Nvidia website here.
So if you buy the software, does that mean that the Nvidia IR kit isnt needed? So I'd only need my 3d TV glasses.
So basically, the question boils down to:
If any of you out there have 3d tv play, unhook your IR Nvidia kit and see if your computer still puts out 3d to your TV.
Thanks for any help.
Long time lurker. I registered earlier this last year, but my account didn't exist anymore. weird.
