I am a current AMD Eyefinity user and I am thinking of switching to Nvidia. I am currently using 3 Dell U2410 displays and 1 HD7970. Things are OK, but far from ideal. How are things with Nvidia surround? Does it support all the same games in the same manner that Eyefinity does? Also I am looking at upgrading to 2 EVGA 670 FTW cards in SLI. I would appreciate any help.

Both systems have their drawbacks and I don't get the impression that one is "easier" than the other.

If you do go for it, make sure that you check the Nvidia forums etc to make sure if any other users with similar systems to yours have had problems. I'm guessing that you have an 9X0 series motherboard, seeing as your system info says that you are running an AMD FX 8120 processor. I tried to get a pair of 680s running in SLi + Surround on an 990FX mobo and only found out after buying them that nobody could get 680s to run SLi and Surround at the same time on that mobo chipset series. I don't know if the 670s are affected in the same way, but better to check before you put your money down.

Just checked myself and the latest from Nvidia is: "We are still attempting to come up with a workaround. Unfortunately I do not expect one in time for the next driver release and it is still possible that a fix may require a BIOS update from AMD. I will provide further info as it becomes available."

Comment source was ManuelG from Nvidia technical support on the Nvidia GTX 600 series forum on the 1st of June. Linking to it triggers the spam filter here though. :(

i have been hearing the same problems with the 990 boards. I am using an ASUS Crosshair V right now. After doing more research I am going to stay put. I have the chance to get a second HD7970 for ~$350.00. So I think I am going go for that, I had good luck with my HD5870s. It seems that Eyefinity/Surround gaming is not quite where I want it to be.
