I apologize if this is an asked and answered question. I searched and didn't see anything.

I am looking at picking up two more monitors to match my 23" AOC 1920x1080 and using the TH2go Digital to play WoW. I see lots of videos of people doing this but rarely do they say what GPU(s) they are using.

Right now I have: i7-920 (oc to 3ghz), 9gb DDR3, GTX260. I want to know if this is sufficient. I currently run 25 player raids in "Ultra mode" with up to 60 fps. I'd like to continue raiding in Ultra mode.

Is anyone doing this or can give me an idea of how this would run at ~5000x1080(1050?)? I don't want to buy the TH2go and monitors and find out that I need another GTX260 (and bigger power supply) or worse yet a pair of 460+! I'm ok with eventually upgrading to SLI but I'm hoping I will still enjoy the setup until I can afford to do that.

It's a bit difficult to tell. On a rough estimate, you can say that going from a single screen to a triple screen, framerates will be down to approximately a third of what they were. Are you running Vsync and your actual fps is higher than 60?

The other thing to think about is how much extra VRAM triplewide takes up - the 896MB that the 260 has might not be enough to cope with maximum details... that said, I have no idea how much VRAM WoW uses.

Well there's a few things, you will be using a limited resolution with TH2G, not your native 3x1920x1080.

If you want to use your native resolution you would need to use Nvidia Surround, which would require SLI.

My WoW has hard-crashed with some memory management errors every time I've tried to run it in surround.

Hello,

From my experience, I moved from 2 GTX260 SLI to an ATI HD6870. The GTX260 were not enough to play correctly to WoW, and the noise they were making were just too much.

Since I switched, it's way better, easier to setup, less expensive and quieter :-)

You can put a bit more and go for the 6970. Don't forget to get an active adapter for the DP (like the Sapphire one)

I've had the same issues. I decided to clear the WTF and Interface folders, and start anew.

Works like a charm now
