Post subject: | Buying a new gaming monitor |
Hello I currently own a LG203WT 20" monitor. So far it has served me well but I've recently decided I'd like something with bigger pixels and was thinking of switching to 22" (because of my gfx card I'm not sure that switching to 1920*X resolutions would be wise atm :). As I'm not really familiar with the monitor technology these days, I was wondering if there were any non-TN panels out there that are suitable for gaming? And if not, what would be the next best thing after that? A friend recommended Samsung 2233RZ, but I don't really need its 3D functions so I was wondering if other manufacturers offer something similar - 120hz technology etc. To sum it up: - 22" size monitor primarily for gaming - fast panel with low input lag, non-TN prefered - no built in speakers/tuners |

Honestly, 120htz is nice if you play a lot of fast paced action games, but it's primarily for 3D gaming imo. I would go with : http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Cinema-23-inch-Flat-Panel-Display/dp/B0002ILKNQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1268094744&sr=8-3 Apple monitors are just offer incredible picture quality and the colors never looked washed out when viewing it from any angle. I am bias, as I always tend to go with apple first. But that is just my opinion and what I would go with from your specifications (no price point was given) although I went over by 1 inch in size. The newer 24 inch variation is also simply beautiful and it's like looking thru a window when using it. : http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Cinema-Display-24-Inch-MB382LL/dp/B0013FMLXK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1268094744&sr=8-1 |

For monitors, I would always prefer Dell or Apple. Apple would be too expensive and doesn't offer that much choices for monitors. Currently they only have the 24" and 30" displays. Check out the Dell website and you'll definitely find the right one for you with the right price. |
