It took some saving up, some ingenuity and elbow grease and im now satisfied with my system. For now.

System Specs

Board - Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L
CPU - Intel e5200 Wolfdale (oc'ed to 3.37GHz)
RAM - G.Skill 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800
Video - ATI 5850 (4800x900 Eyefinity with 10.3 Drivers)
Monitors - 3x 20" Acer x203h

Using a DP/VGA adapter from Monoprice found here
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042801&p_id=5135&seq=1&format=2

I built my stand with parts all found at Home Depot, original plans found here
http://www.overclock.net/other-hardware-mods/494272-project-triple-screen-mount.html

Of course this isnt top of the line equipment but it really works well for me and for the most part has been inexpensive (besides the video card). I will upgrade the mobo/ram and CPU probably by the end of this year.

That's a nice desk you got there, what's it made of, normal plywood?

On a serious note though, I do like your home made triple monitor stand.

LOL, its a cheap walmart computer desk that i had for years. i just slapped a fresh piece of 1/2" ply on the top and screwed it down, adding about 14" to the left side of the desk.

That monitor stand you've made for yourself is pretty boss. One thing I'm wondering about is the amount of stress you are putting on that mount that attaches to the desk, it seems like the leverage the weight of the monitors would have is pretty big; and if there is any less extreme angled joints for the monitor arms.

That flange is heavy, thick metal (not really sure what its made of) with the bolts spreading the weight out evenly on it. The piping is also very thick and heavy.

Im not at all worried of something breaking. I probably would have a hard time breaking it with force.

the monitors are 12lbs each, plus the weight of the piping/hardware were talking less than 50lbs. Not that bad.

I wasn't really thinking about the flange, more like the wood it's attached to.

Well, its bolted through 1-1/2" of wood. Its thick and i have washers underneath on the bolts.

I suppose I'm just being a worrywort.

It should be solid, the only thing I would question are the bend joints, as they look like they are made of plastic, the piping looks like 20mm steel conduit so they should be more then strong enough to support the monitors.
