Post subject:  Viewsonic VG2728wm / options ?

Hey guys :)

I've been checking out pretty much every LCD display for the last week and i'd like to get opinions from owners (or people who have seen this display):
http://www.viewsonic.com/products/desktop-monitors/lcd/graphic-series/vg2728wm.htm

27" is rather large for 1920x1080 and i'm wondering everything is still sharp. I'll be using this monitor for gaming and video editing.

Things I look for in monitors:
- Great pic quality is paramount.
- VESA compatible (i use ergotron's desk mount)
- < 600$ (Lacie & NEC are out)

Optionally - I've been looking at these:

Dell U2410

Viewsonic VX2450wm-LED

Samsung 2494SW

Any and all comments and suggestions will be welcome! :)

Thanks,
N

Among the 3 monitors you listed, definitely go with the Dell 2410. With regards to your concern about 27" monitor image sharpness, I am currently using a 27.5" monitor with 1920 x 1200 resolution and while the images/words are definitely larger compared to that of a 24" 1920 x 1200 monitor, the sharpness is still very good and is not compromised at all. In fact, a 1920 x 1080 can handle a 52" HDTV just fine, how much more on a 27".

I advise against viewsonic with a a passion, as all the viewsonic's I've used have died very quickly.

I'd have to recommended the Dell U2410, but make sure to get a REV A01 (I believe) or higher because the earlier ones had a slightly pink to them.
