Ugh....it's been so long and I've forgotten so much. I've selected the components for my new build and I've used my PSU calculator, but I'm having a hard time believing that I did it right. With the components I've selected, I've come up with just under 500W, but I feel that it should be a little more than that so I've selected a 750W PSU. Can you take a look and make sure that I didn't screw this up? Component List AMD RYZEN 7 1700 8-Core 3.0 GHz (3.7 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 65W YD1700BBAEBOX Desktop Processor ASRock X370 Killer SLI/ac AM4 AMD Promontory X370 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard ASUS RX580 T8G video card (I'm going to have to get this off of e-Bay because NewEgg isn't selling it anymore) https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/ ... 8G-GAMING/ G.SKILL Flare X Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) AMD X370 / B350 / A320 Memory (Desktop Memory) Model F4-2400C15D-32GFX DVD/CD Burner 2 SATA drives (1TB and 2TB)....(not rich enough to make the jump to SSD yet) Here's the PSU that I've selected... EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 220-G2-0750-XR 80+ GOLD 750W Fully Modular EVGA ECO Mode So...did I do good? Or am I an idiot? Thanks. |

Sounds good all in all. And you will definitly stay under 600W, probably below 500W even. Thing is, if you have a 500W PSU it will handle short peaks to 550W easily. On the other hand it doesn't matter if you have a 750W PSU. But the best efficiency is between 75 and 90% Load Oh, and you really should buy a SSD, even if it's only 128gb for OS only. |
