Here are my initial impressions I just got it yesterday and I am still waiting on my calibration hardware to come in Thursday so I hope to get to that this weekend and put up some calibrated pictures.

I had a 3 29" monitor setup and it was pretty nice but the side screens were always deformed so it really only helped my peripheral vision and plus wasn't a fan of the bezels.

I used that for about 2 years and then was intrigued about the 21:9 so about 4 months ago I got the AOC 29" and I really liked the form factor but the 1080 vertical did cut things off the top at times.

Then I got the LG and I really like this monitor. It's massive when you take it out of the box, but it's not much heavier than my AOC. I checked the back and it had a label of June 2014 so I was glad that I got one of the new batches. I really don't see any backlight bleed and only a little IPS glow. The colors really pop and the added resolution makes everything sharp looking and it solved my vertical issue.

I'm not a fan of the joystick menu controller, it's in the bottom of the monitor, but in the center of the screen. It works pretty well, but with my setup, I have it mounted on my Obutto triple stand monitor, it shakes the monitor when I have to use it. One big plus is that there isn't an on light that I can see which is nice for a dark room.

The split screen software had issues, I still had my other 2 monitors hooked up in portrait mode and the software apparently didn't recognize my LG monitor so I couldn't use it. Once I unplugged the other monitors it worked fine so I"m going to have to check on that issue. Any window can be snapped into any section that you choose. The AOC software only worked with windows explorer so it was pretty much useless.

Since the AOC was only 1080P I could run every game at 60 fps with no issue, I was able to overclock that monitor to 75hz so I actually got 75 fps. With the added resolution of the LG I can still run most games but even with a Titan there are some titles I had to turn down the graphics to high, Crysis 3 was the one of them.

Overall I'm very happy with the monitor and I hope that they fixed the issues with the latest batch. Once it's calibrated I will upload some pictures and answer any questions anyone has.

Just got this as well. All hail the Taxman for giving me a hefty refund :D

I used to have a DELL 30" running at 2560x1600
Graphics card is GTX690

This is actually running a little smoother than the 30" :)

At work atm so no ingame shots...but here it is (sorry about the cable mess, am testing a lot of things atm :D )

G19 keyboard for size, and a 24" BENQ in P mode (sucks btw)

As for Games, I've tried the following sofar:

BF4
Wildstar
Image
Titanfall (need to tweak it a little more got a weird lag spike in some circumstances)
Warframe

Divinity: Original Sin

Grim Dawn

NB: Sorry it took so long yo post the images, life is like that sometimes :D

I’m interested in the monitor. However, I don’t understand why the ratio of both the UM95 and the UM65 models aren’t 21 : 9 and they aren’t equal to each other.

2560 : 1080 ≠ 21 : 9
3440 : 1440 ≠ 21 : 9

2520 : 1080 = 21 : 9
3360 : 1440 = 21 : 9

I did find a source that indeed 21 : 9 TVs aren’t actually 21 : 9, but 64 : 27. And the interesting explanation how they came to the formats 16 : 9 and 21 : 9.

4 x 3 = TV Standard
4² x 3² = 16 x 9 = Widescreen
4³ x 3³ = 64 x 27 = 21⅓ x 9 ≈ 21 x 9

Cinemascope is 2.35 : 1
Anamorphic is 2.39 : 1
UM65 ≈ 2.37 : 1
UM95 ≈ 2.39 : 1 = Anamorphic

Then, taking the true ratio value of 64 : 27, we get:

2560 : 1080 = 64 : 27
3440 : 1440 ≠ 64 : 27
3413⅓ : 1440 = 64 : 27

I think the idea is that it's close enough. Also, this is WSGF, and wider is better my friend.

I just got mine and it's amazing. Some very slight backlight bleed towards the left corner and the rest is IPS glow.

here's my setup.

The LG34UM95 is awesome. And the WD Velociraptor Duo Thunderbolt 2TB external drive is uber fast.

Anyone know where I can get some decent wallpapers that are 3440x1440?
