Like many of us here, I've been rocking all sorts of multi-monitors and widescreen setups for a long time.

My most recent addition was a Dell 21:9. I like it but I've never been a fan of 1080 vertical, it "feels" to confining. The more vertical the better...to me.

Sounds like LG listened or they got better yields on their panels as their process/tech refined.
Here is a review of LG's new 3440x1440 21:9 monitor.
Is anyone on here ordering this? Skip?

I've been looking at it for a while. It's a good middle ground between single monitor and multi-monitor. It's just a little pricey.

Not at a place I can order one just yet. I'm also looking to see when the Dell comes out, and how the prices compare. I really want to go 3440x1400. I've been playing 21:9 more and more, in general. Maybe I can talk someone into giving me one for free. ;)

Really like this monitor but not ready to purchase.

As a side note I am really getting disappointed in newegg's pricing practices lately. About 4 hours ago I sent skipclarke a pm that this monitor is in stock at newegg for $999 because I knew he was interested in the monitor. Then I looked just looked now and it is at $1399.

It seems like newegg must get in 50 or so of them and then they sell 30 of them at $999. Then they say, "wow these are selling great lets price them way higher and see if they still sell".

The reason for the Newegg price change is that it sells from different vendors. The Newegg price is 999 but the 1399 price is from outside vendor through Newegg. I've been looking to get this monitor and finally found it in stock through Newegg and it's on it's way.

I also read on another forum that the reason these are hard to find is that there was an issue with the back lighting on them and they were fixing the issue so LG was holding back stock until the issue was resolved so hopefully I got one of the new batches.

Thanks for setting me straight on this. I had a feeling that this could be the case but was not sure. I like how Amazon just lists the different vendors and the price.

My monitor should come in today so I'll try and have some impressions next week. I hope that I got the "fixed" version and not one that was sitting in a stockroom somewhere. I have the AOC 29" version and it's really good, I was able to set the refresh rate at 75hz but wanted the higher resolution so that I wouldn't be cutting off the top of the picture.

AOC also introduced their 34" 21:9 with the same pamel from LG:
http://pcmonitors.info/aoc/aoc-u3477pqu ... resolution

It's got no Hardware LUT, but hast height adjustable stand and Pivot. Should be a little cheaper than the LG.

I still wait for a DELL or - even better - NEC version of that panel.
