Hi guys,

Sorry for my first post in here to be one requesting help :(

Yesterday I purchased this WS LCD monitor

It is a Hanns-G HW191D 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor.

This is the listed specifications for it

- 1440 x 900 (WXGA) Optimum Resolution
- 16.2 Million Colours
- 700:1 Contrast Ratio
- 5ms Response Time
- 300 cd/m2 Brightness
- One DVI-D Input
- One Analogue Input

I received it today, got it setup and have tried gaming, this is where the problems start.

I see tearing in every single game, wether V-Synch is on or off, I have tried maxing out settings to slow the game down, set my mouse as slow as possible, and even in games that don't have fast movement I see the tearing, such as Titan Quest, that tears particularly badly, and its one of the least games I would expect to have tearing.

I have an X1900XT, I am running at native res, 60hz, Using DVI.

The IQ is absolutely stunning, but if only I could stop the tearing, it would be perfect, please help.

Are you sure that V-sync is ON in your video driver settings, and not just your games? If it's off in the drivers, it'll stay off no mater what the games try to do.

And of course get the LATEST video drivers.

Is this your first LCD?

I know that when i got MY first LCD ( a bit of a cheapo) i noticed visual issues in couple games that made me think i got a bum deal, but then i saw that ever the best ones did it... Though none were as low as 5ms.

It was definitely set to ON in the drivers, but I found the problem, for some reason, it wasn't being applied in the drivers unless I restarted the whole PC :?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction :D

Everything is great now, and this is an el cheapo lcd as well  £132 from OCUK, its my first lcd, I only bought it because my CRT was screaming and on its way out, to buy another CRT it would be a bad no name make and far too expensive.
