seta r_customheight "1050"
seta r_customwidth "1680"
seta r_mode "-1"
seta cg_fov "115"

I have this set in my config, I read how to do it very carefuly. But everytime I go into the game it seems to reset the FOV back to 90. The fov will not change...

Have you tried entering the FOV command from the in-game console?

If so, you can bind it, or all commands, to a key and jsut push it every time you start a level. A bit of a pain, but it would work.

Say you want to bind it the your "P" key...

bind p cg_fov 115

Add a semi-colon followed by another command to bind more than one to a single keystroke.

bind p cg_fov 115;r_customheight 1050;r_customwidth 1680;r_mode -1;vid_restart for the changes to take effect (only for resolution change)

Of course make sure your config file isnt read-only.

It says cg_fov is cheat protected when I bind a key to change it...It looks like there is no way to fix it :(.

That's mentioned in the solution apge the original poster referred to, and there IS a way around it.

First you will need to modify the shortcut on your desk top.
To do this: Right click it and select properties, then change the ''target'' line by adding the following:

+ set sv_cheats 1

Once this is done, you should be able to change the FOV, even though you have to enable cheats to do that.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm having trouble with this game.

It works fine up until I meet Kessler on the tram stage. Once I walk over to him and the stage ends and the next cutscene starts, the game crashes to desktop with no error messages.

I've done all the widescreen changes to the wolfconfig.cfg file mentioned in this thread except changing the FOV.

I'm running on XP Pro, SP3, Geforce 8800 GTS. Ideas?
