Hi there,

New guy here, just need a little help regarding the TH2Go

I've had a 3 screen setup for a while now, and have been using SoftH for the majority of my gaming, however I would like to finally buy the real deal - TH2Go.

Now my question is related to monitors.

Currently I'm using:
1x 24" Dell 2405FPW
2x 24" LG L246WHX-BN

They all support up to 1920x1200 resolutions.

Now I'm confused about the Hz required to run triple screen at 5040x1050

On the Matrox website it says the highest resolutions it supports is 5040x1050 (3 x 1680 x 1050) @ 57hz

Now I'm not sure if my monitors will support 57Hz?, currently they are running at the standard 60Hz - will it work at 60Hz?

If anyone could enlighten me that would help a great deal. thanks.

Hi and welcome to WSGF :)

No, they will not run at 3x1680x1050 at 60Hz. 57Hz is the highest refresh rate you can use in that res.
If your monitors will not run at 57Hz, I believe you will have to use 3x1440x900 at 60Hz.

Sometimes you can get 57Hz with some work, even if at first it doesn't appear it will work. I never tried it though and I'm running 4320x900 at 60Hz. Sorry I don't know the details for trying to force 57Hz, but there are some post explaining how to do it. However, it is not a certain. It may not work with all monitors.

Have you checked the sticky thread for Known working monitors at 57Hz?
If your models are listed as working, that means that someone has them and tried it and they work at 57Hz. If they are on the Not working list, you may be out of luck.

thanks butch, found the thread : http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/9399

Looks like the Dell is on the list, however the LG isn't on any of the lists.

Is there a way to test whether or not it will work at 57hz?

Ok so I had a play around inside the Nvidia control panel. I tried out the Manage Custom Resolutions.

If I add my own ie: 1680x1050 @ 57 hz

Then apply it, it seems like it works and has 57hz displayed on the monitor menu itself.

Am I correct in saying that this means it's supported?

I suppose so. I would think if it works at 57Hz like that, then it should still work when connected to TH2Go, since it will be running through it at the same res/refresh rate.

If anyone knows why it might not, please let us know :)

Yes, if the nvidia control panel can set it to 57hz and that is what the monitor is reporting, you can us it with the th2go. You would get either an "out of range" or "no signal" message if it didn't work.
