This is why despite purchasing a retail copy (the Collector's Edition no less) I decided to go the cracked EXE route. No Steam, no forced updates, I patch when I want to patch the game and avoid any potential issues. I was happily playing along on version 1.1 with an older version of Hayden's patch while everyone else got 1.2 forced down their throats and had to deal with the aftermath. Screw that.
im with you on this one, i didnt say anything cause i didnt know if people would be like "HOW DARE YOU, GTFO OF OUR FORUMZ- RAWR!"
but with the grief we have been getting i did this like 50 pages ago
but i am still checking multi times a day following cause if everything ends up working great, and the patches dont break more than they fix, ill update and continue
yes, i know reference time in pages of this thread.
and on that note;
I remember the good ol days of the 30s (pages in the 30s that is), and im dating myself here, man do i feel old! Yep, back then when hayden was working diligently on his first release, teaser shots were surfacing, and helifax having just sprung his cheat engine fix, was frantically working and improving with each increment..
ahh those were the days, days that were much more worry-free. Days of just a hotkey or two making things right, always looking toward a beautiful horizen of hope..
Now we live in a word filled with patches and sadness, oh how things change *sigh*
