Is there a fix for the cutscenes, or is that something we'll have to live with?
Hi,
No fix for the cutscens at the moment... (the black bars thingy).
As for those who are using the fix for single monitor.. I cant really help you. I heared that for some it might work and for others not. The fix was made with Multi monitor setups in mind. I dont know how it will behave on single screens...or what settings you should put in...

haloboyvash: I know nothing from nothing but I will tell you what worked for me. I have a single monitor 1920x1080. Like you I tried multiple versions of the fix with no joy. However, the most recent version does work for me. Make ABSOLUTELY sure you have the latest version of Widescreen Fixer from https://www.widescreenfixer.org/ (version 1.1.3a 14 Feb. 2012). Delete whatever you currently have and install this version. Then get the most recent helifax plugin dll file, which is linked in helifax's post in this thread # 214 dated 18 Feb. at 10:22. Extract helifax's file into the plugins folder of Widescreen Fixer. Make sure that helifax's plugin REPLACES Plugin.Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning.dll in in Widescreen Fixer plugin folder.
Once I did this, I ran Widescreen Fixer. The most current version allows either automatic detection of the screen resolution or allows you to set what you want. I have a single 1920x1080 monitor. I tried a bunch of different things but started with leaving the automatic detection box checked. I set the "back" key as the toggle key. In the drop-down list in Widescreen Fixer, I chose Kingdoms of Amalur (do NOT forget this step - I did and Halo settings do not work). Start Amalur (although I have found that it does not matter whether Amalur is running or not when Widescreen Fixer is started). No fish eye when Widescreen Fixer is enabled. However, I found that 50 fov resulted in worse fov than the game's internal setting and even at 200 fov the camera was too close to the back of my character.
So I unchecked the automatic detection box and started playing around with the resolution. You can do pretty much anything you want as long as you use whole number multiples of the horizontal and vertical resolutions (it is kind of like: you can have any color you want as long as it is blue). You can get some very interesting views doing this but they are not playable. For example, I set 4x1920 by 1080 and got a really magnified, and very clear, view of what was in front of me. Not very useful since the whole point of the fov fix for single monitor users is to increase what you see around you.
What ended up working for me is to leave horizontal resolution where it was and set vertical at 1/2. So: 1920x540. This gave me enough additional fov without shrinking my character too far for me to be happy. I can also toggle Widescreen Fixer on and off if a particular scene works better with the original game fov. On one occasion, while on a stairway inside a building looking at my character sideways I could rotate the mouse to cause the bottom 1/4 of the screen lose the picture and show something that looked like outer space, but that has not been repeated. Battles are much better because, with my character farther away (which is what the fix does), I have essentially a 360 view. I do have a 60 inch plasma HDTV as my monitor. I am not sure if this would work on a smaller monitor because the character might get too small.
I had many of the same experiences as you - 2.0 api fail; fish eye - but the most recent updates worked for me. Do not ask me why, I can only tell you what I did. I do not even understand how one can change one part of resolution without changing both. Why, if I double horizontal resolution but leave vertical alone, do I not get a fun-house mirror result? 'Tis a mystery to me but as long as I can see enemies around me and not just in a narrow angle in front, I will leave the science to others.
I was quite hopeful when I read this informative post from a fellow single monitor user. Unfortunately, using the very latest versions of WSF, r361, and the plugin from post #214 doesn't work any better than any other version past r312 for me. I tried all of the usual tricks (default reso, various FOV's, 3x horizontal, 1/2 vertical). The game just doesn't seem to look right, the paper doll's still tiny and cutscenes are zoomed too far out. I guess what I'm wondering is, am I really missing out on anything by continuing to use an old revision of WSF? In terms of optimization, features, whatever?
Ok Since I see alot of posts regarding 1 Monitor and read all kind of stuff I tested the fixer and it works 100%
What did I do?
1. Go to game and in the Main menu select Options -> Resolution and put your resolution: 1280x720 for example 2. Go to widescreenfixer -> COG 3. Disable autodetection and put in :
1 Monitor (NOT 3!!!!!!!)
Corrected Resolution: 1280 x 720 NOT OTHER weird resolution!!!
4. SACE Settings 5. Enable the fix and if INGAME press "" (Above enter key) to switch the zoom mode so the new FOV is read and applied.
6. Proof (Tested On STEAM VERSION)

What about the retail version is it possible to use origin or steam to enable it?
Neither origin nor steam have an option to add the serial from box yet.
Tried with all 3 option demo/origin/steam and doesn't seem to work.

Great contribution either way Helifax
Hi, Demo is the Origin version and only FOV is fixed (increased to a greater value) which is static.
