No luck getting custom resolutions to work in DOOM3 . I have tried everything I know from the old Q3 engine no luck. For instance you set the customwidth and custom height to what ever then you would set r_mode "-1" which is supposed to allow it to use whatever you define. No luck on doom 3 though.

I thought it was touted to support widescreen out of the box?

It seems edit the basedoom3config.cfg with these line

seta r_customHeight "1200"
seta r_customWidth "1920"
seta r_mode "-1"

works for me. I am using a Philips 230W 23" 16:10 LCD.

However the aspect ratio seems not right, it looks like streched.

Seems that iD fixed the aspect ratio.

Considering how popular widescreen displays are getting (especially in laptops) it's extremely short-sighted of developers to make the games worse for our community of gamers. (You can't tell me that everything wider than it should be makes a game look better, 'cause it doesn't!)

But then, lots of developers are doing it. Widescreen still isn't a big enough percentage for them to worry - even if we complain. *sigh*

Here is a link to a message on the [H]ard|OCP forums that has 1920x1200 shots and instructions on modifying the fov.

got mine running in 1920 x 1200 now, also changed the field of view by entering in the console G_fov 110.

DrAnubis I take it you run the same settings thus having the same monitor and card as myself ?

also is there a command that allows you to change the anti aliasing within the seta doom 3 script and fov ?

just wondered also what monitor refresh rate your running, take it 60 Hertz is our safe option in 1920x1200 ?

cheers

I ordered from cdromshop.com and it shipped today (Wed). 2 day shipping from them with DHL express to London, U.K. so I should have it Friday and will test things out then. I can't wait until the 13th so I ordered it on import.
