I tried the manual hack and got the same result, 'Out Of Range'. :(

I solved the problem. It seems that Bloodlines may be starting up in a higher refresh rate, so you have to force a refresh rate of 60Hz through dxdiag, More Info, Override. So 1680x1050 is now working for me. :D

There is a little graphical app created by a Planet Vampireforum member which will patch the game to use any res you want (be careful to enter the correct res though as it will accept impossible resolutions that may damage your monitor if you try them).

Yes, that is the little patcher that I used first. Much easier than manually hacking the file with a hex editor.
