Well first off, every preview said it ran very well, but a few said that the 360 version was a bit smoother.
However it was pretty split accross the board. I saw *more* previews that mentioned the PC one looking sharper and superior, but all said they are very close.

Also, that was with the settings cranked and playing it on an LCDTV, so I'm sure the resolution was decently high too.
If you have a good pc you can tone down a setting or two and I'm sure you can have it running well.

For me, I'm getting 360 though. I know my PC can't run it that great, and when I get my 2407FPW I am CERTAIN my xbox will be running it better at that resolution :P

remember how much doom3 left PC's for dead lol, only the £500 6800 Ultra's would play it properly when they came out, give it till June time when AM2 hits, nV will have G80 ready to be out by then i guess, ATi will be in the same position i guess, and we will then all see how unintensive it is!

I know how its better to play it at top res, just tone down the graphics a tad, will still look awesome! and they still have optimising to do yet!

just remember - "itll be rite"

Heh. Even a 6800Ultra couldn't handle Doom 3 on Ultra Quality properly... in fact, Ultra Quality was a bit of a lemon, really...

auch

Personally, I felt that the Xbox 360 was the better version of the two. While the PC version has the ability for mods later, the Xbox 360 framerate was much smoother than the PC version. The PC's we used had a top of the line video card, so if these machines had issues running the game smoothly, you'll have to turn off some features to get a smooth framerate on systems with older video cards. While you might be able to run Oblivion on older video cards, I speculate that this could be like saying that you can run Strike Commander on a 386. It runs, but you have to turn off a lot of the special effects, and it won’t look like the pictures on the box.
