I have a Dell 2405WFP which I love and am thinking of adding two Dell 2005WFP or 2007WFP along side with the TH2Go. Does anyone know if these will line up cleanly with each other? The 2005 seem hard to find, eBay has mainly the 2007. I would think I would be able to find some deal on a pair of 2005's but maybe not. Also where do you find a list of supported games and is BF2 one of them? Any thoughts or suggestions on this setup would be appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!

Will they line up? Well ones a 24" and the other is 20". Boy, I don't know. That's a toughy.

:x

You should only be asking yourself if the diff is bearable. Personally, I don't know why anyone would want to throw away a third of their lcds.

I think it can be done but it wont look pretty.

According to matrox, the th2g has these resolutions for you to choose:
1920 x 480 (triple 640 x 480)
2400 x 600 (triple 800 x 600)
3072 x 768 (triple 1024 x 768)
3840 x 1024 (triple 1280 x 1024)

Widescreen mode
840 x 720 (triple 1280 x 720)
3840 x 768 (triple 1280 x 768)

(If you are in the single screen mode, the center mon can have a max of 1600 x 1200)

Resolution of your center mon (dell 2405 at 1920 x 1200) and your 2 side monitors (dell 2007 at 1680 x 1050) would exceed the above resolutions. So, the images on all 3 mon will be stretched.
I think, if you force the monitors to display 1:1, then there will be black vertical stripes shown on the left and right of the screen.
Either way, it aint pretty.
(I have not used th2g yet and I am speculating. Correct me if I am wrong)

(btw, i have my own question to ask: after setting up the th2g with 3 monitors to play games, how to (and how easy) to switch between this and the single screen mode? Just pressing a hot-key on the keyboard? I plan to use just the center monitor for websurfing...etc)

My comment reflected what p2987 pointed out, namely that you don't utilize all of the pixels you paid for.

But those dells scale well, so it wont be so bad. Plus you'll have the extra square footage that you simply cant get with a smaller panel. Those screens are just literally bigger, even if the pixels get interpolated.

Try gaming on your 2407 at 1280x768, and see if you like it. If you get a th2g, that will be your res all the time. This to me is the deal breaker. If you could somehow switch back to native, maybe th2g would be worth it in your case.

Whats your thoughts?

after setting up the th2g with 3 monitors to play games, how to (and how easy) to switch between this and the single screen mode? Just pressing a hot-key on the keyboard?

Your desktop will always be 3840x1024. If you run windows there is a utility that will fake windows into thinking you have 3 monitors, so can still fullscreen an app to just one lcd.

The problem is that they will scale differently, and you'll end up with a "hump" in the middle. Might not bother you, but it should work.

I don't know if I understand correctly, you want to have 3 monitors with differente sizes? If that's it, I don't recommend you to do this.

I have a 19" central and two 17" lateral, it was just to try the 3H2G before expending 1000€+ on 3 monitors.

Well even though it's so MUCH better than one monitor and I'm having a blast playing the games (FS2004, WOW, HL2, X2) with this cheap set up, they don't align well and it's not how 3H2G is meant to be used.

It's ok for a temporal solution or if you don't want to spend too much money though.

Thanks guys, some very good feedback. I didnt think about scaling the image between the 24 and the 20's. Based on what your saying I would NOT be happy with the results. It sounds like the ideal setup is with three identical monitors. Maybe I should get two additional 2407's...just kidding. That would be cool I think but TOO much cash. I would probably also be bothered by the VGA output. And I run my games at 1920x1600, 1280x1024 would bug me as well. When I first got the 2407 I hooked it up with both the VGA and DVI outputs from my card and the DVI was by far the better image. On that note does Matrox have any plans to have a DVI output 3H2G?

You guys have been great and thanks again for the help!! :D :D

I'm glad our feedback was usefull.

Here you can see pics of my setup to get a better idea of how it looks like. The monitors are CRT so that makes it even worse because the bezel is wider.

But.. did I say I'm still enjoying it... A LOT? :D

Other then the bezel issue it actually looks pretty good. I can see how this would be VERY COOL for flight sims which I dont play. I am into FPS mostly. Thanks for sharing the pics! :D :D
