I will try that. Now my other big issue is the low framerates are killing me. Starts to give me a headache after a few minutes.

This vert- thing was just about the only thing holding me back from getting WoW. And if I do give in I'll have 4 friends to power level me. Needless to say I'm looking forward to the patch.

My roommate did some kind of console command that made the vert- a little easier to bear. It was something like this:
Code:
/console camera maxdistance50
This allowed me to zoom a little bit farther back.

Very excited to see the change - I'm playing at 3840x1024, with the viewport chopped to 1280x1024 like most people. This will give me a reason to close Cartographer once in a while. :)

My monitors are aging (NEC 1760V's) - they're about 5-6 years old - and are starting to accumulate dead pixels, each has one or two. I'm going to be replacing them soon and I've been thinking about going to the 1680x1050 size with the digital TH2G, I have the analog one now. Video card is a single 8800GTX. Is there a thread somewhere that compares available monitors now? I haven't been able to find anything.

With the yesterday arrived patch 3.0.2(3.0.1 exactly) "Echoes of Doom" the change made it to the live servers.
Every (because you have to patch to play) WoW-client is now Hor+ (except the chinese client AFAICS).
Also if your account is not upgraded to burning crusade or wrath of the lichking your client gets upgraded.

Wiki and this Report should be updated soon.

I can confirm this. Here is a 4:3 - 16:10 comparison:

The 4:3 screen was taken at 1024x768, and the 16:10 was 1440x900. The images were rescaled to 480px high.

The camera were the same, same zoom, same position, etc.

Finally.. The Vert- was about to make a headache to me

Nah, better Hor+ than Vert- :P

It's a shame the cinematic clips are still Vert- though. : (
