Paddywak Edit : I split this off as it was nothing to do with the original topic.

Hey Paddy,

I dont want to cross post but wanted to ask a quick question someone with 8800GTX cards. I noticed that the card is got 2 PCIe power connectors. Does each card in your system requers 2 PCIe power cables?

Thanks Paddy. I have first release of the P&C 1KW PSU so it only comes with 2 PCIe cables. They got a new version with 4 now. I guess i'll have to upgrade when i'm ready to get 8800s.

That's a pain ...

Another thing worth mentioning ...
I found just one of my 8800GTX's is faster or about the same on most games than the 2x7950's I did have ...
At the moment having the second 8800 only makes for a small increase in FPS over one ... hopefully they will improve this with better drivers.

The benches of quad SLI i saw did show only partially more performance even in high resolutions...

no way they will run the last level without turning everything down or even lowering the res to 3072x768 ... sorry guys.

I hope that if I deal with that level a 8800gtx will be mine....

No ... each 8800 requires 2 PCIe power cables as mentioned earlier.
When I first got the system (nearly a year a go) I had 2 x 7950's they also required 2 PCIe power cables each ... don't think there was a PS that had 4 PCIe power cables back then.
