Hi there,

I want to buy a new Monitor. And I'm thinking about a widescreen display. But I often play older games only for a short time, so that I dont want to patch every game every time. I thought about a universal patch. The game resolution should be 1024 x 768 and the native resolution is 1680 x 1050. Now I want a patch which adds 4 black stripes, so that the monitor does not make a interplarisation. Is such a patch available? Sorry for my bad english and thank you for your answers!!!

If you have a nvidia card you usually can select this option in the driver menu.

And a really big problem in that case since in the 1,5 years I roam these boards I have only found 1 person who managed to enable scaling on an Ati card, and that was on a laptop. :(

No Azz your not the only one

A few of us have been kicking up a stink over at the Rage3D boards about this issue for quite a few months now...Thread1 Thread 2

We did get a lame ass response from sedric (one of ATI/AMD's driver guys) saying about how the feature worked as intended but he was soon made to look a fool as it clearly does'nt and he has'nt post any info snice....If ATI dont get this sorted by R600 im off back to NV

oh man, I just read the threads... that must be a joke.... it must be so easy for a driver developer just to put some black boarders around the picture.... maybe something will be added in the next driver release. i hope so... But perhaps there is a patch coded from another person out there?
