Not sure if anyone reported back but with the 2253BW, the OSD warning not only goes away but it shows down the video signal! Therefore making the monitor useless.
Still looking for a solution to 5040x1050, all other lower res's seem fine.
Just a follow up to my issues, I was able to get it working but with the warning message still present.
Using the settings from this thread: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/9741
I only had to follow the Nvidia custom screen res. section under the heading "To actually Setup 5040x1050 57hz, do the following:".
This resulted in all three monitors getting the OSD, even the 226BW, but at least I can clear the OSD message and the video stays behind finally.
Here is what the moniotrs report from their OSD:
Digital
59.4kHz 56Hz PN
1680x1050
So at least it's changing the rate from the previous 50 or so kHz. Now if I can find the magic settings to push that 59.4kHz to 60.0kHz, maybe we can even get rid of the OSD.
This is with the latest 180.48 Nvidia drivers and 2.4.0.11 Matrox GXM (PowerDesk-SE).
At least the moniotrs work.

However this morning I had an issue with the monitors coming out of power save mode, they would not... I did a bunch of stuff including Ctrl-Alt-Del, pressing the source button and sacrificing some virgins but they finally came back on and displayed the warning message which I was able to remove by pressing the menu button.
Ah well, I'll get this figured out eventually.
