Hey guys NOOBY the Noob here... Ive emailed Sq1uizzy for a widescreen option and he said that if i have the Update v2.0 that it supports widescreen. unless i am missing something i cannot see it in the graphics options. Also i can only set it to 1152x876 and want to take it to 1400x900.

Pls any help. I have the European update v2 patch its about 198mb big.

Yes i read that it supports Non 4:3 resolution. Hey thx again for reply. Honestly man i did not see any indication for widescreen. And i can only set it to 1152x876 reso. Oblivion i can set to 1400x900 etc.

I think this game will look amazing with true widescreen. Lets hope you can figure it out and see what i am not seeing.

I'm sure that i've played it with a widescreen resolution. I'll reinstall the game tonight and let you know!

In the readme of the v2.0 patch it says "Support for non 4:3 resolutions". Well, i'll keep you posted :)

Yeah, the patch added non-4:3 resolution support, but it only renders the HUD correctly in widescreen, but the 3D view is just 4:3 stretched so we need a way to hack the horizontal FOV to fix it.

Is this game enjoyable? I heard it was so buggy when launched tha I never bought it.

Is it better with the 2.0 patch?

I'm heavily into STALKER... but always looking for something later. :)

Yeah, the 2.0 patch fixes the game up pretty well, and it is a really good game that I think mostly got negative reviews because it is a memory hog and simply chugs with anything less than a gig and a half of RAM. The AI is really weak as well, but they put you up against enough of them at a time to generally make up for that. Boiling Point is much like Stalker in many ways, and though not as good in some ways as good it does have some nice features that Stalker lacks as well. I do recomend playing it and playing Stalker has prompted me think about going back to play it again as well.

Funny thing is, prior to that you could actually run Vert- widescreen by editing the .ini and starting the game windowed before switching to full screen, but I don't recommend doing that as the game is really rough without the 2.0 patch. I suppose I should look into using Artmoney or something to see if I can find a way to get the widescreen FOV right, though I honestly don't even know where to start with that.

Should the Master Games List be updated to reflect that patch 2.0 adds Stretch widescreen support?

I held off buying this game a couple weeks ago since I thought it had no widescreen support. Now that I know it does it I feel like picking it up while waiting for STALKER's own 2.0 ;) Although I keep ruining that by continuing to play STALKER regardless of its bugs.
