Guys, I have being reading the forums, but I am still somewhat confused. I have 3 lcd screens at 1680x1050 native res. I currently have them running on two 8800gtx's which works great for everyday tasks, but i can only play games on 2 of the displays. (Anyone know if its possible to play this setup on three screens?) My question is if I get the TripleHead2Go will this work with my 3 screens at their native res? Or do I got buy 3 new lcd screens at another res. Or should I just wait for the DVI version. Help :!: Thanks.

Arg, here we go again.

You can game on three screens with your curent setup using SoftTH. However, you will have to run in non-SLI mode and thus one of your 8800s will go unused. Using this solution (which seems to have limited compatibility), you should be able to game at 5040x1050, assuming your hardware can push those pixels. This solution allows for bezel adjustment.

If you get a TripleHead2Go, you will be able to game on three screens while using SLI to drive the setup. The max res will be 3840x1024. The max triplehead res will be 38040x768. You will not be able to run your monitors at native resolution, nor will they be scaled to another 16:10 resolution; they will be scaled to a 16:9 resolution or to a 15:9 resolution (3840x720 is also available). There is no bezel adjustment with the TripleHead2Go.

If you wait and get a Digital TripleHead2Go, all of the above is true plus you will have the available option of a 3840x800 resolution, and everything is run through DVI. Bezel adjustment is a feature of the Digital TripleHead2Go.

For the either of the TripleHead2Go solutions, implementing treplehead in games is a hell of a lot simpler. SoftTH requires modified files in each game's instal folder in order to run at triplehead, and the internet is full of people trying to get it to work. It also comes with a framerate hit from syncing the output of two video cards. The Matrox solutions' only framerate hit comes from the fact that you are running at a higher resolution.

Ahhhh, thanks Jkeefe. One last question if you don't mind, as I would just like this to be clear in my mind.

The Digital TripleHead2Go will allow me to run my 1680x1050 screens in their native res? At 16:10? Is this correct? If so then you helped me a bunch on my decsion to wait. Thanks Jkeefe.

Update: Still researching and learning this. So its my understanding that you have to add up your res. For example: 1680x1050 times three is 5040x1050. Is this right? If the highest resolution that the Digital TripleHead2Go can go is 3840x1024 does this mean that I'm SOL here? What would be the best res with the Digital TripleHead2Go for this issue? Thanks guys. I know I am a noob here but I am searching the forums for some answers.

@ JKeefe ...
Arg, here we go again.
... that did make me laugh ! ...
I did a bit of a write up (used some of your words) and made it a "sticky" (link below) ...
I have locked it (so we don't get lots of posts messing it up or causing confusion) but if you feel there could be some improvements or additions please PM me ... thanks mate.

@ Jascias ... read this ... Info about the TripleHead2G's and widescreens

So ... for your set-up ... without distortion ... the best you will get using a TripleHead2Go is with the digital version and it will be using 3 x 1280x800 ... assuming your monitors can do 1280 x 800.
You will not be able to do 3 x 1680x1050.

Hello all, I had a screen 19 " which I resold to buy a screen 22 " wide in order to make triple screen of 3 X 22 ".

I realizes that the maximum resolution with the TH2G is of 3x 1280/1024 is 3 X 19 ". My problem is thus to know if I can change the resolutions of my screens 22 " into 1280/1024 in the place of 1680/1050, because currently I can play into 1280/1024 without deformation out of my 22 ".

If that is possible, that will prevent me repurchasing 3 screens 19 " and not buying simply that 2 screens 22 ", the price being identical in the 2 solutions but I would have more place with 22 ".

Thank you for this answer, but I very did not understand (I do not speak very quite English).

Knowing that the screens 22 " are into 16/10 and not in 16/9, the analogical TH2G dopn't work correctly. Similar for the version digital considering with the resolution of 1280/800 is not appropriate this screen has.

There thus remains to me the choice of SoftTH, but I the principle does not understand. It is necessary to have a motherboard with 2 port pci Xpress (I have Asus Commando chipset p965), and two graphics boards (I currently have one 8800 GTX), therefore I should repurchase one 8600 in order to have the same driver not to have a problem of compatibility. But if I understands well, it is only the main graphical card thing which makes turn the game and I am thus afraid to have a strong fall of FPS, and I does not understand either the problem of synchronisation bus in my game, I prefer not to put it.

Afflicted for these questions, but before paying my screens I wants to be on result. Thank you in advance.

Hello ...
I'm afraid I not do not understand most of what you are saying/asking ...

You need two graphics cards ... not in SLI ...

and I am thus afraid to have a strong fall of FPS
Yes you are likely to have a large drop in FPS with the SoftTH as it does not use SLI.

Thus the system by SofTth will not be appropriate to me because of the fall of FPS.

Paddy, I see in your signature that you has of the 20 " and 24 " with TH2G, and I thus put myself the following question, how made you to have Windows and play at game ??
