Fallout only supports 640x480 fullscreen. No other resolutions, no windowing. On a 1680x1050 LCD, this causes eye cancer. I've googled, but none of the apps I've found have worked. Has anyone managed to change Fallout's resolution, run it a window, or both?

i went through this a while ago and as far as i could find, there's no way to fix it. There's a program called DXWnd or something like that that lets you run it in a window but it's glitchy and slow so i can't really recommend it.

Use aspect ratio scaling on your video card. It works great for me.

That's a problem with having an Nvidia card, scaling has been nerfed for ages now.

I have an nVidia card and the latest drivers. Aspect scaling still works great for me.

I cannot decide about forcing aspect correction. Sometimes it seems good, but then...

Is there a way to force the correction in only certain games rather than a universal switch?

I do. Why wouldn't you force aspect correction?

Some games just do not stretch well.

It may also impact my ability to produce quality detailed reports.

I want Hor + for my Dynasty Warriors, not stretch. (Can't even pay a person):D

EDIT- I like stretched Jade in Beyond Good and Evil however. Seems like better proportions.

I guess it's dependent on drivers, monitor and cards. It certainly didn't work on my 6800 GS with the 94.24s and the last 2 drivers for my 8800 haven't worked either.

That's why I always use aspect ratio correction. Aspect ratio correction means you don't get stretching; you get black bars on the left and right.
