Hi everyone,
I hate to start a new thread on this (honestly, I've searched but since everyones specs are different I just wanted to confirm) but I've got a few questions before purchasing the Triplehead2go box.

My rig:

Q6600 2.40 GHz, 8M L2 Cache
3 gigs 800Mhz ram
ATI HD4770 graphics card
1x Dell 19'' widescreen lcd
2x Acer 1916 19'' widescreen lcd

The monitors max at 1440x900 I believe.

I ran the compatibility test on Matrox's website and it start I could run 3x 1440x900 but there were some asterisks by the resolution. They are as follows:

"* "Triple wide-screen resolutions require PowerDesk version 2.05 or later, and graphics hardware that supports a dual-link DVI connection."

** "While using the DVI input connector on your Matrox product, the highest display resolutions are available only with graphics hardware that supports dual-link DVI. For information on the capabilities of your graphics hardware, see its documentation."

Does this mean my graphics card needs dual DVI outputs?

It's a decent card; 512mb ddr5 ram, plays most current games on medium/high detail. I just wanna make sure for most of the racing sims, I've got good enough hardware to run the triplehead2go.

Lastly, any good place I could pick up a used TH box? Right now, $297 after shipping/tax is the best deal I have found for a new one.

Thanks in advance!

-Colin

Hi again
And welcome to WSGF

I covered this for you at NoGrip, in case you haven't seen it yet.

In short. Your card has Dual Link DVI, so you are good to go.
The card should be fine for 4320x900. It is suppose to be a good mid level card. You may need to find a mix of gfx setting vs frame rates, but it should do well. It is suppose to be on par (or slightly better) with a 9800GT Nvidia, I believe.
If anything is incorrect, someone please bring it our attention :)

A used one, I don't know mate. I hunted ebay for a while and people were bidding more than what they could have bought a new one for. I guess they got bid happy or something. I saw it happen on a few of them. I got out at $225 mark myself. I saw one sell for $345.00+shipping, I believe it was. Newegg had them at the time for $299 with free shipping, lol.
I just gave up on trying to get a used one and bought mine new.

well I would personally say that a HD4770 512MB is a bit on the low side for such a high resolution as 4320x900 (your TH)

but then I'm quite exigent in terms of quality and fluidity
as said before if you sacrifice some graphic settings it should be fine enough depending on game
plus you can always change it later if you're not satisfied ...

Righteous. Thanks all for the replies. Butch you're a great help mate.

If push comes to shove and I'm not happy with the settings anymore, I'll opt for an enthusiast card (after a couple of paychecks saved hahah). But I'm not a hard core gamer, so I don't think it'll too much of a problem.

I'm going to put the order in for the triple tomorrow morning. I'm really excited, now I just need to hunt down a cheap trackIR!
