I updated it and it will patch it in less than a second. I could do that to most EA Games, I could do a generic patcher?

If you guys need anything else to be programmed, let me know!

Hey guys, I did an automated patcher for this, it seems working... But I hope a real fix comes out from EA..

I wrote it on my blog as well.
http://m0interactive.com/archives/2007/10/28/nba_live_08_resolution_wide_screen_fix_patch.html

You can download it from: http://www.m0interactive.com/download/8.00

For more info, I explained it better in my blog site.

Cheers!

Thanks for making the effort! But that patch only works if the game is installed in the default directory(c:Program Files...)! I installed it somewhere else... So your patch doesn't help me :(
Anyway you could change it so it would be possible to set the "NBA Live 08" folder? Or maybe you could make the patch search for "nbalive08.exe" from the folder the it is run from?

It's obviously stretched, everyone is short and stocky.

And God those graphics are terrible, maybe one of these days EA Sports will realize PC's can handle graphics beyond the PS2.

But I doubt it.

It would still be stretched, so why patch it?

For those who does want to play this game stretched, here's a patch with alot more widescreen resolutions including TH and Dualscreens.

Just place the patcher in the same folder as the executable. So it doesn't matter where you installed the game.

http://www.squ1zzy.nl/Temporarily/Squ1zZy_NBA_Live_08_v0.1.rar

I'll give it a shot to not make it stretched...

I've included the executable that needs to be patched. The patcher m0 made doesn't work if you bought the game :)

Just replace the executable that comes with my patcher with the original one. Make a backup first of the original file!

Not Found

The requested URL /Temporarily/Squ1zZy_NBA_Live_08_v0.1.rar was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Sorry, I have been away working on my open source project, but redownload the path again, and I did what you suggested, if the file is not found, it will ask you for the location! It will save the file to the same location that you have altered.

squ1zzy: The reason why someone would patch it is to change the resolution?... and the patcher would work for any game that has the same resolution fix solution as MVP Baseball.

If anyone has a new way to look into fixing this, let me know and I can implement it for you, cause widescreen gaming is a must for all games !

Ja man, blame EA for ruining their sports game products, their games like Crysis, they didn't code anything, Crytek did. It is kinda embarrassing to see "Electronic Arts" not supporting Widescreen.

So if anyone knows a way to change FoV in EA game (if there was a previous solution that worked that changes FoV (i think fov=100 would be enough), I can try and implement it!)

Cheers!
