I lost one of my 19" screens yesterday, and its out of warranty. So now im looking to upgrade to the digital TH2G and get new sceens.
I am looking at the AL2216Wbd by Acer but not sure if it will support the max resolutions of the digital TH2G? Also kind of concerned how it would do at scaling for games that may not be able to play at 5040 X 1050?

Price and free shipping are looking very good to me at this point in time.
Here is a link to specs.
http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/data/7117/documents/AL2216W%20English%20(manual).pdf
Page 9 gives some specs.

I have been very happy with my analog setup and you guys have helped that experience alot. But this stuff is confusing to me.
Any help would be appreciated.

I found this thread http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/9269 and looks like it will work if I use the right drivers. Still wondering about scaling though?

well I'll put a reply in for you :)

Scaling always comes down to personal preference. I am running 3x24" Dells and on the desktop everything is a bit fuzzy. But I thought, initially, that it would annoy the heck out of me. But I have gotten used to it really quickly! It now doesn't bother me after less than a week of use.

In games I do not notice it at all, the fuzziness almost seems to cancel out a bit of the jagged edges you get on many games unless you have a lot of AA enabled. So I reckon 3x24 is the best of both worlds. I use TH2Go whenever I can in the game UNLESS it is competitive MP FPS. IMO I love the extra space for third person and RPG type stuff; and the immersion is awesome..the screens curve around my vision and I am there! However for things like CoD4 and BF2/2142 etc (when I am playing with my clan, anyway) I stick with the 1920x1200 cos the immersion is not important ...fragging the hell out of everyone else is  I find I concentrate too much on the central monitor to get the use out of the outside monitors so the extra space gained by 1920x1200 over 1680x1050 is really nice...2560x1600 would be better but I ain't got the space for TH2Go and a 30" monitor!

So there you go, my 2p .......the Dells are great and I would recommend them.

Thanks Mach 1.9pants for your reply and opinion.
Iam still up in the air and trying to figure this stuff out.
I can see the benefits of going 24" especially on the games that only support single screen (MP online).
Hehe iam not sure I can get 3 24 inchers on my desk.
I guess I better get to measuring and such.

Another reason I was thinking 22" was to match up with wifes puter in the office. She is running two NEC 19" 4:3, outside, with a Samsung 22" wide in center for her work computer. Looks awsome! She does not game and uses a cheap PCI 2nd card along with UltraMon software to get her desktop working well for her. In case of emergency she could always borrow from me to keep her business flowing.
Iam also afraid she would get monitor envy and want new ones for herself....lol

Whatever I do decide I will post in here to maybe help someone else decide what they may want.

Be back soon

Update:
After reviewing and reviewing what monitors to get Iam totally confused and frustrated.
I have three in my wishlist from new**g, but still wondering about the 57hz thing.
My list so far:
LG L226 WTQ
BenQ G2200W
Acer AL2216Wbd

I also went and look at stores and liked:
Dell E228WFP
Samsung T-220

Iam so frustrated at this point I figured id step back a bit. I do have the DTH2G purchased ($294.73 with shipping) and on its way. At least I have taken 1 step towards Awsomeness....lol

22" is about the largest screen I can go and will work within the desk set-up. It should get me a full immersion effect and also let me experience the full resolution the DTH2G.
Iam also facing budget restraints and was hoping to stay under $700.00 for the monitors.... Ugggh!

I got my LG L227wtg monitors last Thurs on sale and was crossing my fingers they would work @57hz. I did get my DTH2G yesterday and now things are working great.

The monitors look awsome and only little thing i dont like bout them is the glossy piano finish. Minor detail.

I used search and referenced many posts in here to get where iam. BUt the 5040 x 1050 resolution is fantastic.

I had troubles getting digital signal till I installed LG drivers but that was about my biggest problem.

I want to thank all who post and give out great advice along with Matrox for helping to achieve this total immersion into the gaming phenomenon.

Iam running 175.?? drivers at current with my video card and have only ran two games so far but its looking good....hehe

I blew past my budget but feel it was worth it. The monitors are awsome and scale very well and have a nice crisp clean look. Plus LG warranty is very good.

Did I mention this is Awwwwwsome!!!!! lol :D
Thanks guys I wouldnt have this setup without you. 8)

Soon it will be time to upgrade computer...uggghhh

Congrats on your purchase! I think that 22" x3 is still great, and if I didn't already have a 24" I would have been going that way but 2x24 is not mch more expensive than 3x22! :)

Welcome to the club
