Ratio is neat, but what resolution does it use? a stretched 1080p like plasma do with xga or something else?

So far seems more marketing gimmick than anything else.

Definitely beats a th2g provided a decent res. though.

My guess is it's something like 2520x1080, capable of displaying 1920x1080 broadcasts either with black bars at the sides, zoomed to fit the screen, or stretched to fit at user's preference. It would of course easily display letterbox movies full screen in 1:1 though, but anamorphic 16:9 ones again with the above options. I assume if I'm right, the same options would be available for gaming at 1920x1080. All the better if games started supporting a 21:9 resolution though. I'd love to see Philips make something like this in a smaller size in PLED.

Germany, Belgium, the UK and France

And somewhere, right in the middle of those countries, there's the one they usually forget. For crying out loud, they even have Belgium in there!

interesting option for large screen near triplehead wide for gaming.
so now when im watching porn, the girls look really fat!

it's like a middle compromise between a really large screen HDTV and the ultra wide view of triplehead2go.

I'll be interested in it but it have to be priced reasonable and good resolution

not like that 2800x900 crap of the alienware.

btw: I won't buy philips products they break down easily and their customersupport sucks

Do Philips actually make thier own LCDs? My guess is that panel will be available to several manufacturers.
