I've been struggling with getting 5040x1050 in Vista X64 with the latest nvidia display driver for quite some time. Its seems to finally be working!

1. Remove all old custom resolutions in the Nvidia Control Panel.
2. Uninistall your current Nvidia Drivers. Reboot as required.
3. Reboot into Safe mode and install and run driver cleaner (available on guru3d.com). Clean the nvidia display driver.
4. Reboot again.
5. Download Forceware Beta 182.46 from Nvidia's Download page.
6. Install Forceware 182.46. Reboot as Required.
7. Install the Beta GXM provided in the Stickied post from Mach1.9 and run the Wizard to set the triple wide resolution to 5040x1050. Reboot as required.

Done.

HI,

I've tried the 182.47 driver for Vista 64.

It could not modify the max desktop resolution. So, I installed the Nv200 -vista-beta (Have a 8800 GTX). And it works, the desktop has finally the 5040X1050 ! The driver said it would use 55htz, but finally, the 57 htz are working !

But, as I thought, FSX deosn't work with this resolution.

Cool, glad it worked for your 8800, I will put a note to that effect on the thread. Cheers!

I've been using 182.47 beta for a while now. Its working in 5040X1050, SLI on 2xGTX260 with no major problems (with beta MXM) in Vista64.

Its been stable on Armed Assault and I've tested for a few minutes with Left 4 Dead, Far Cry 2 and X3-Terran Conflict. Even got blu-ray working full screen with PowerDVD 7 (PowerDVD8 was awful, slow and unstable).

note: I did not use driver cleaner before I installed 182.47. I had a working 180.48 setup and it seemed to have kept all the INF settings from that install.

I just want to confirm that the beta GXM will work with 8800's because I'm running dual 8800 GTX's in SLI and am currently stuck running the 180.xx series drivers with the official GXM.
