Hello everyone,

Over the past year or two i've been somewhat of a lurker here using this website to find solutions in my widescreen adventures.

Recently my 226bw started flickering when I turn it on, over the past week or 2 it's gotten progressively worse resulting in a complete blackout for 2-3 minutes today before doing its rutine 3-5 minute flicker then going back to normal.

I use an ancient crt for my second monitor and that one turns on just fine so I figured it wasn't my gpu, but I thought i'd ask here!

With that said, if this is out of the ordinary and not just a case of "time to buy a new monitor!" any help would be very greatful. If not, i'd like to hear some suggestions for a 22" or higher monitor. I've become spoiled by this one and quite fond of the 1680x1050 resolution. Budget would be 200$ish for a new one.

when you say complete blackout, you cant even see the slighest hint of any colour or definition?

if the backlight fails it will go almost completely black, but you can still make out what is on the screen.

if its completely black it sounds like something maybe PSU related.

but i would imagine its a warranty or get a new screen job, both faults (if it is actually a fault) are expensive to fix, have someone look at etc

Before lastnight it would just start off flickering, but when I turned it on before making my previous post it was completely black for about 2 minutes, then slowly transitioned itself into a seizure inducing rapid flicker.

I actually have plans to buy a new PSU along with video card this weekend, I don't have another computer to test this monitor on right now or anytime within the next week.

I'd have to look at the receipt but I would not be surprised it the warranty has past. Think i got this like 2-3 years ago.

Talk about bad luck. Mine began doing the same thing just four days ago, minus the black screen part. After being off for a long period of time(say, leaving the machine off over night), it will flicker like a strobe light for about half a minute, then return to normal for the rest of my session. It runs flawlessly after that, but I'm afraid this problem might be progressive.

Mine is an original 'S' panel. Any ideas yet what is going wrong with yours?
I wonder if there is something that can be replaced, or if the entire monitor is dying.

hello ya´ll

I am from germany so I hope you can understand my problem.

I would like to use 3 Samsung monitors with the TH2G. By now I have the Samsung Syncamster 226BW but someone told me that I have to use 57 Hz for the TH2G. My monitors doesn´t support it.

He gave me instructions for testing it with different nvidia drivers and use custom resolution. I tried but it doesnt worked. My monitors will flicker at 57 Hz.

Does anyone have a clue how to fix it and how I maybe can use my 226bw without buying 3 new ones?

Its an option, but I would do it as last step if anything else failse.
Please help me =(
